Aniplex launches an original project "So・Ra・No・Wo・To".

Sorawoto official website

The original character designer is Kishida Meru (PS3 game "Atelier Rorona"). Judging from the names of the copyright holders "Paradores・ Aniplex/ 1121st Platoon", it's about a Spanish military band. The detail will be announced at Dengeki Character Festival 2009 to be held on October 3rd and 4th.

Anything that comes out of Aniplex is basically to be taken into consideration, and this project seems interesting too.

Excellent. Excellent!

Although they did wimp out by making the heroine a trumpeter. A Trombonista, that's where you're at ;)

Damn, this sounds like it could be worth seeing. I love it when they branch out and do other cultures in anime. Only problem is that when they do this 'Spanish' band, will it still be in Japanese? Cos that kinda seems like it defeats the purpose...

Most likely if there will be lyrics, most of them will be Japanese or at least partly Japanese. Perhaps they should take an example like Lilium from Elfen Lied or the Umineko opening... Anyhow, seems interesting. As long as it won't turn out to be some kind of K-on in the military. I'm going to die that way.

A military band does not play songs with lyrics. They play songs like this. And this.. And this. Hopefully.

Although if it's Spanish, they might probably end up playing pasodobles instead. Mm, not too bad I suppose.

Deeply admires = ripped off in this case. Seriously, those character designs are shameless K-On knockoffs. It sounds like a neat plot and all, but does it REALLY need the moé?

If it wants to sell DVDs, then yes.

I'm not worried though. Character designs aside, this sounds nothing like a K-ON knockoff.

Well the art style is really as K-On's, but it's not a problem, I think. Seems pretty cute to me and even Kalafina'll do the theme song, so I'll definitely watch this. I hope it'll make a bigger impression than K-On did however I liked that one too.
