The anime started with a rape scene so naturally I was intrigued.
Denpa Teki no Kanojo tells the story of one delinquent Juuzawa Juu. One day he met Ame Ochibana who pledge her body/soul/heart to Juuzawa, claiming that she and he are linked in their previous life. Their story is alternate with some gruesome murder scenes which of course needs to be solved.
The day he met Ame, his class president, Fujishima got killed by the Phantom Killer who he chanced upon while walking randomly in a rainy night. Ame found the murder weapon and told him so but of course he who thinks Ame has a few screws loose in her head thought that she is the Pantom Killer. So begins his investigation until he met the culprit.
Then BAM! the one he caught before wasn't the real culprit. I was totally caught off guard. It was goooooooood.
The story touches issues are that rather common nowadays and show us how we as human learn to face those issues. It was psychologically delicious.
The animation is decent. It got really details when it comes to the gory murders. Other than that nothing special. I also notice the action sequels. It was pretty darn sharp.
The voice actors did a good job in my opinion since they all seems in character, be it deceiving or not. Juuzawa especially have this habit of clicking his tongue whenever he gets annoyed and that little thing makes him more real and believable as a character.
The ED song is something that I don't mind having on my playlist either if I could find it.
The ending of this OVA is freaking amazing. It was unexpected which is why I enjoy it so much. It influenced my rating a lot. I mean A FUCKING LOT. This OVA is definitely a must watch for thriller/mystery lovers out there.
However I'm not sure if this is a one shot OVA or has multiples episode since in MAL it was said that it is still airing. I don't mind having more of this goodies though.

Although it sat around my HD forever, Denpa Teki is really a nice little anime. It's biggest fault is that it appears to be on the same release schedule as Hellsing Ultimate, that being "maybe every few months, if we feel like it." I commend Denpa Teki for taking head in a relativity niche genre, and doing so in a much more realistic way than it's predecessors.
Story; 8. While there remains little uncharted territory for the yandere/yangire niche of psychological thrillers, Denpa Teki reminds us that it is not always best to follow instinct. The plotting of this OVA series is properly paced, and most notable for it's M. Night Shyamalan twist at the end. And the end, on that note, is very good. Possibly one of my favorite endings in months. Although the remaining episode remains to be seen, as it stands now, I am very pleased with the story, my lone complaint being typical of a series this short anyways; characterization. While a few characters are developed well, the male lead needs to be fleshed out further.
Art; 8. The art style was unique, and not without it's faults. The landscapes are very well put together. There is a distinctly urban look, and especially in the night scenes, the landscapes are convincing and a genuine visual treat. The characters are drawn well, however I found that the style varied from character to character. There were a few shoddily done scenes, but they were quick and outside of this, mostly all other visual bases were covered. Character movement was also very fluid, which can be a huge problem in some series.
Sound; 8. Subtlety is key here, and Denpa Teki is a prime example of the advantages to sometimes having a very minimal soundtrack. The few instrumental pieces played thought are moody and fitting, and in scenes where one would expect a poorly placed, cheesy bgm reel, I am treated to sweet silence. Being able to focus on character dialogue was great, however I had to dock it a few points for the ending theme. Ack. Not good.
Character; 8. Given it's length, this isn't a very in depth area to review. The two main females are well done, and interesting. The male lead leaves a bit to be desired, however he is not terribly underdeveloped.
Enjoyment/overall; 8. For what it is, Denpa Teki is a standalone series in the realism of it's characters and setting. Though characterization becomes tricky due to it's length, the fun twist and bittersweet (though mainly sweet) ending make it something I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a solid, satisfying slice of mentally unstable girls. read more

Crazy girls "harem" for the main character, mystery and torture.
Mysterious murders, psychopathic girls, blood and horror. These shows have them all and if you enjoyed one, the other would be a great watch too.
Same ambiance ; Mystery, horror, serial killers and an innocent main character surronded by suspicious girls. It's enough violent , tripped , and as interesting as Higurashi.
The similarities are evident.
Stalkers, mysteries, murders, blood, baseball bats, tasers, red-haired psychotic girls, blue & white uniforms, 1 guy & many girls: all these things surely will remind you of Higurashi.
Both involve crazed girls trying to kill everyone.
Both anime are mysterious.
What's more some characters are similar... eg Miya Satsuki looks alike to Rena Ryuuguu, Ame Ochibana resemble to Rika Furude...

Mysterious murders with unknown suspects. Crazy psychopathic girls and a guy whos caught in the middle. If you enjoyed one of the shows, the other is a must watch.
Murders that are conviniently placed right where the lead male can see them, a strange girl following him without making sense on why... if you like one then I'm sure you'll like the other. Denpateki is Chaos Head without the fantasy.
Mysterious murders with unknown suspects. Crazy psychopathic girls and a guy whos caught in the middle. If you enjoyed one of the shows, the other is a must watch.
