one thing is for sure, Hiromasa Yonebayashi's When Marnie Was There might be the last fully hand drawn japanese animated film we'll see

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-08-03/ghibli-co-founder-suzuki-studio-considers-dismantling-production-department/.77263

http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2014/08/03-1/studio-ghibli-co-founders-tv-appearance-stokes-talk-of-changes

With three decades of influence, (1985-2014) I think they really deserve the break but it's kinda sad for a fellow fan myself

Studio Ghibli, a studio which produces animated films driven by vision and quality, not by what is popular in the market

AmberFebruary | 08-01-14, 3:57 AM
and i'm hearing not so good new about Marnie's performance in the box office, and you can't avoid to get worried about the future of Ghibli with this >.<

and why Zankyou no Terror is so good, Watanabe's flawless direction and Yoko Kanno's genius in music is just perfect

AmberFebruary | 07-20-14, 6:50 AM
so far

1. Zankyou no Terror
2. Aldnoah.Zero
3. Barakamon

these are the solid top of the season for me now, and I'm sure it ain't changin now either

Tokyo Ghoul is also good, and SAO II is delivering so far

as Tokyo ESP and Akame ga Kill, i'm still wavering if should continue watching or not >.<

AmberFebruary | 07-19-14, 10:41 PM
but nothing beats Watanabe's Zankyou no Terror's execution and Yoko Kanno's OST, ep.2 is just superb

AmberFebruary | 07-19-14, 7:37 PM
Aldnoah.Zero, easily rose as my top of the season, that EPIC ep.3 and & Hiroyuki Sawano's adrenaline-pumping OST m/

so how's When Marnie Was There?

AmberFebruary | 07-13-14, 4:17 AM
favs of the Summer 2014 so far

1. Terror in Tokyo
2. Aldnoah.Zero
3. Tokyo Ghoul

ridojiri | 07-13-14, 2:39 AM
do you have a twitter or line or anything like that?

AmberFebruary | 07-06-14, 1:34 AM
New Season Sutato!

So far, i've checked Aldnoah.Zero, Tokyo Ghoul, Argevollen and SAO II

well liking Aldnoah.Zero, the music is kinda something you've heard already, this may be the problem with Sawamo doing a show every season >.<

and Tokyo Ghoul is also good, solid first episode

still undecided for Argevollen, its kinda bland

well if SAO II wouldn't focus on Kirito's harem i wouldn't mind watching this all through out

AmberFebruary | 07-02-14, 6:46 AM
been looking forward a lot to Kaguya-hime also, and so excited to watch it really
well for me, Kaze Tachinu has this uniqueness and beauty that captivates me a lot, its not his usual but this, this film I love :D

as for my picks
Glasslip, Tokyo Ghoul, SAO II, Aldnoah.Zero, Sengoku Basara, Space Dandy 2, Akame ga Kill!, Ao Haru Ride, Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma☆Illya Zwei!, P4 Golden The Animation, Tokyo ESP

Most Anticipated: ZANKYOU NO TERROR, BARAKAMON

what about yours?

and i'm also excited for the next Ghibli film, When Marnie Was There ^^,

finally watched Hayao Miyazaki-sensei's farewell masterpiece, The Wind Rises
BEAUTIFUL, perfectly animated, a mature & very well written plot, complex characters and one of a kind amongst his own films.

That Great Kanto Earthquake scene is a landmark in the world of animation and that 2nd Naoko-Jiro meeting is pure beauty. The film is just filled with so many beautiful scenes and tremendous amount of detail.

A VERY BEAUTIFUL FILM.
my Hayao Miyazaki top 3 films:
1. Laputa: Castle in the Sky (1986)
2. Princess Mononoke (1997)
3. The Wind Rises (2013)

AmberFebruary | 06-14-14, 3:31 AM
yow, how's life?

AmberFebruary | 04-19-14, 6:33 AM
watched Jojo up to ep.2

man, nothing beats old school shounen at its best, direction and animation is super excellent and have shown tremendous lot of improvements compare to the last season, especially those camera angles ^^,

will check Haikyuu next

AmberFebruary | 04-18-14, 4:32 PM
well i just actually recently finished rereading Nausicaa and its such a delight reading it in hardcover volumes

here are the sample images in case you haven't seen it yet
its 10.6 x 7.5 x 3.5 inches
very big and quite heavy really, but it is of perfect size to appreciate Hayao Miyazaki's art and detail, its a one of a kind manga with its art alone, and a perfect masterpiece along with his first and greatest heroines: Princess Nausicaa and Princess Kushana, a Tolkien-esque scale of a world and culture, a wide range of great characters, and an epic story which explored themes only Miyazaki could and would do
(now that's something we both know and affirmed already >.<)

well as far as this season is concerned, my masterpiece i guess would be Mushishi Zoku Shou, its of perfect note as with S1, really its a different experience watching each new episode of it
2. Ping Pong, its Yuasa Masaaki, nothing could go wrong, and animation and characters are golden already
3. Hitsugi no Chaika, ep.2 sold it to me, it delivered what made me love Scrapped Princess so much, those characters :)

as for others, Captain Earth (it has this different feel I can't explain that continue to entice me), Soul Eater Not!, Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii (this one I crave and I like), Knights of Sidonia, Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (I for one don't see what the hype is about aside from the incest-tous relationship of the siblings XD), Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin, Isshuukan Friends

still haven't watched Jojo, well a lot of those are 1-cour series so i guess it wasn't that much of a load and i can find time to watch them after work ^^,

AmberFebruary | 03-31-14, 5:24 AM
and i just received my Nausicaa Manga Deluxe Box Set, a worth it collection

AmberFebruary | 03-31-14, 5:22 AM
its a step down compare to Tengen Toppa but imo they did a very great job with it nonetheless especially with the character interactions, still one of the best series for this year

and finished watching Kara no Kyoukai: Mirai Fukuin

the greatest finale that could happen for one of the most memorable movie series ever
those character interactions, development, Ryougi Mana and SHIKI at the end ^^,
and that Kalafina movie song
Kara no Kyoukai - The Garden of Sinners will surely be missed.....
