noteDhero | 11-23-08, 9:52 AM
I never even thought to join a LoGH club. Thanks for the invitation!

Salut salut.
Notre compatibilité n'est pas si haute que ça (t'es trop généreux T__T), mais je sens que tu vas quand même aimer cet article :

Not a problem, your feedback meant a lot to me, being I did work really hard on that blog. I enjoy certain anime a great deal, and yes, a lot of them happen to be obscure and older anime just so you know. ^_-

That's the second time one of my blogs got compared to the "Buried Treasures" portion of ANN, which I agree is excellent. If my blogs do create this kind of effect then you can count on me creating more in-depth looks at older anime that really showed me something as a fan throughout the years.

Thank you! ^_^

Greetings! I've made a blog about Hyper Police on my profile in case you're curious as to why I really liked the series. It's a sloppy first effort and I may fill in some holes to it if I feel I'm forgetting something.

Also, I appreciate the fact you went out of your way to watch the series, which is very generous of you. ^_^

If you have any questions about the new segment in my blog titled Extra Magic, feel free to ask. I'll try to add more anime into it over time (not sure which anime to do another segment on at the moment).

TomoyoSakagami | 11-10-08, 10:35 AM
Dude, have you seriously watched and dropped all those anime?

Windspirit | 11-02-08, 4:23 PM
Yes, Mirai Nikki is the shit. <3

Ah, I see you've dug into the Vampire Hunter D franchise! The original is an old favorite to say the least, but I feel Kawajiri really flexed some directorial muscle with the sequel Bloodlust and bettered the original. ^_^ (the action sequences are absolutely rich!)

Also, I forgot an important detail to note involving Hyper Police, and that would be the Chief of The Police Company, in which his name is Mudagami. He's supposed to be a God, and he is miserable because of how low on the scale he's been put in society with humans being placed above him.

As you go through the series, if you have any questions or comments just feel free to ask. It's got a lot of fun details to follow through, there will be a some interesting sequences later in the series, and the director really gives a relaxing feel to all the down time each character has when they're off the job. ^_^

For the record, the series really starts to pick up in the fifth episode, though I've found much to enjoy in the first four episodes too when I say this.

The visuals are definitely of a lower budget to say the least, and while it does have some rather familiar comedic cues, it's the details of the series and some of the given situations that remain of high interest to myself. The characters are also very fun for me to watch too, and the theme regarding the state of humanity will definitely hold importance to the ending as well.

It's based in a world that makes me think about a lot of things, and some of the characters really go through some rough poverty because of their times. Basic civil servant work is also given an amusing spotlight to say the least. It's all a matter of me connecting with the material and enjoying the series for what it's worth despite any flaws it may have. :D

I like sharing opinions with people on MAL though, there's plenty of unique tastes, and plenty of areas in which people can relate with one another too. ^_-

Ah, I see you're giving Hyper Police a chance! ^_^

I would like to mention the first piece of commentary that came to mind involving this series. It's interesting to note how in the first episode when Chief Mudagami wonders "how a god like himself got into such a predicament", and yet it is also noted later in the episode that humans are given more rights because they are believed to be an endangered species.

Now the funny thing about this is how humans are put above gods and animals alike, but in a strange way, it also seems to play on the idea on how man likes to thrive in his world above all other creatures, even at the risk of pushing religion aside. It's something I've always thought over with Hyper Police's world, but I also like how the characters in this series try to co-exist with each other as best as possible, regardless of the troubles the lower classes have to put up with. In some cases however, unfortunate events will occur within such a system, and characters who are less off than Natsuki will ultimately try to create a little trouble for her too. ^_-

As the series moves forward, the cast goes through all kinds of interesting situations to say the least. Some goofball, some surprisingly serious, and some very practical (fighting criminals comes with a few legal issues).

I really like the world of Hyper Police in general though, it leaves a lot a room for spontaneous things, yet they somehow appear natural within the means of the society that has been created.

For the record, I also liked what the ending for this series tried to accomplish, and I think you'll find something interesting about it too. ^_-

Joyeux anniversaire, guy with epic tastes !

Also, it's nice to hear you're enjoying Mahoromatic on another note, it's certainly well done when considering Yamaga keeps things interesting with some great directorial cues of warmth with Mahoro's time around Suguru, yet there's also the sequences that express the maid cliche turned upside down by showing the contrasts of Mahoro's double life as a soldier and a maid.

Good job obtaining some Gurren Lagaan figures by the way! :D (I intend to see that series sometime soon)

Thanks for the feedback on my blog! ^_^

I'm always up for talking about old anime, I can tell we both have an affinity for older and perhaps more obscure titles from the 80s and 90s. I'm in the same boat regarding new stuff as well, I still want to see some classics, but I'm working on seeing some newer anime too, even if the older stuff is where my heart ultimately belongs. Gunbuster and The Wings of Honneamise are two experiences that have definitely shaped my experience, along with Angel's Egg and Twilight Q.

It's interesting you've seen Angel's Egg and Twilight Q by the way, those ones are definitely big favorites of mine that I don't get to talk about all that often with other people. Robot Carnival is also another that I'm always excited to talk about too.

Indeed, I love directors though, especially Oshii (who is a big influence on me, and I have a book that discusses his works) and Hideaki Anno. I still look for new talent as of today, and even check on the older talents to see what they're up to right now.

I'll make sure to check out LotGH, even with its length, it's a series that I think sounds very interesting. It's a matter of finding the series and setting the time aside to watch it at some point.

Hopefully I'll catch you on again sometime, and when that happens, I'll make sure to send you another message! :D

I hear a lot about Legend of the Galactic Heroes, I remember the guy who directed Macross was a part of that production. It's certainly a series I'd like to check out sometime to say the least.

How are you liking Mahoromatic by the way? ^_^
