Fantastic episode once again, even though the production values dropped significantly. The script is extremely gritty and cruel, yet just perfect. It's like Tiger & Bunny (which was already good) done right.

In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

I haven't read the manga and really enjoyed the first episode, but with this second one now you can feel that it's more than just rushed even if you've never read the source material. Just like SquChan said, it feels like a recap episode more than an actual episode. Shame, I had really high hopes for this after the first episode, but it seems everyone who was complaining about the differences to the manga in the first episodes discussions were right after all.

Guess I'll have to add it to my "maybe they'll redo it right in some years" list.

Mother of Rush! 0_0 For people who is a big fan of the manga version, this will be a let down. I have read the manga but I will take this anime as an independent version of it. The first episode is not bad, but this second one is just..! 0_o. All bunch of scenes were skipped and it does not make any sense, since the story for this second ep is not smooth at all because of that! Like other people said, this is more like a recap then an actual story flow. I can understand since they are only allowed with just 13 eps, but this is... I guess I will have to stay with it until the end to see how the story actually end.

They had to change things to fit the entire story, people will continue to bitch about it, which is pretty funny to me.

The fight was worth watching if nothing else but the episode was good. I like Konoha but don't like her grandpa. Poor Jin lost her Auntie. I thought she would remain more in the episodes.

NO NOT LIKE THAT! Not at all , you are wrong. It certainly is borderline and hard. However it's like Gantz. In it you see sex on the DVDs but not genitals or details shown other than nipples and ass. That's what it will be IMO.

I didn't notice any fast pacing since I don't read the manga, but if its true that they are skipping heaps of chapters and altering dialogues, does that mean Filler Ending?

Strangely enough, it was a "good" episode, more development; although the time skip, and the presumed death at the end was a bit rushed. Enjoyable watch, enjoyed the new ED.

Actually Jin isn't the main character all by himself. It's clear since the first page of the manga ( That is actually the Prologue ) that Kouga is, at least almost, as important as him.

there are so many subtle differences that added up together literally makes this anime an "alternate universe" from the manga. The way Konoha was supposed to meet jin was completely different, and i dunno, it's bugging me since I have read the manga...

The KougaxJin relationship reminds me to Gungrave.
I should read the manga tho, that jump from ep 1 to 2 was way too abrupt.

Also, i loved the grown-up Konoha.

is it just me or does it feel like a seinen manga turned into a battle shounen anime? -.- im not complaining about the anime- but it feels like all its really going to be is a shounen battle anime- with battles in every episode- and people that look like super heroes... -.- thats the impression the anime gives off- the batman kinda vibe like someone mentioned earlier. The manga is NOT like that though. its not a battle manga- its SEINEN- it has a more complicated plot and more depressing atmosphere... it feels like the anime changed the vibe and atmosphere completely. the fight scenes were nice- gotta admit that- and i like it generally... but well... the manga isnt focused on super heroes and battles every episode. It feels like the anime will be though. i dont like how they changed the format. i understand they have so much to work with and so little time to do it... thats why i respect this adaptation to an extent... but it feels like they completely missed the point and exposition of the manga... at this rate- its a miss for me- i dont want another batman or battle anime- i wanted something with a more indepth plot and a darker atmosphere... something more complicated... thats what the manga provided- but i doubt the anime will... i will watch as much as i can stand at this rate- cause like i said, i do respect it... but i dont know im going to finish it at this rate... i'll try, but idk... its a little bit disappointing- (thats based off of the fact its an adaptation, as a stand alone its perfectly fine, just not my type- but as an adaptation, it doesnt share the same atmosphere as its counterpart. thats my bottom line. )

For real, they're skipping way too much; I don't see any reason why they had to skip so many chapters in 2 episodes.
Why'd they have to cut out all the good parts with Akemi? She was my favorite character in the manga, but they cut out any attempts to give her any personality in the anime. Now, somebody who should've been a fairly important character is just like another filler character.

This pacing is so bad....and the anime-induced "twist" of Jin And Kouga being childhood friends is already starting to contradict developments not only in the manga, but in the anime as well.

How ANYBODY can just watch anime is beyond me, but seeing as apparently a lot of people who only watch anime seem to like this series I'm sure I found a reason why many modern anime suck. Anyway, I see the series as an alternate re-telling now. This way I can watch this anime with low expectations and without raging too much at the wasted potential.

You're overreacting, GC had far more rape metaphors than the Zetman manga and here it serves a purpose. Also, it's a Seinen. You should expect such scenes to a certain degree.
And Kouga IS a main character, too....

Pretty nice one. I like the fast pace it moves although it leaves some things unsaid or left hanging. As for now there are some black holes that I hope they will fill up as the show goes on.
I loved the scene when Jin crushed the firespiter's heart. And the ending was pretty intense too. Totally left me wanting some more.

I haven't read the manga but even so I can tell that they skipped a lot of material in this episode. It wasn't as obvious in the 1st one IMO, but in this one it was just screaming. Anyway, Jin is probably the least likeable lead I've seen so far. Even assuming I usually hate leads. I felt like punching him nearly the whole episode. I mean, he sees childhood friend he haven't seen in years and he just tells her one sentence and leaves? Then literary robs his other childhood friend and treats him as trash? WTF?! It might be because I LOVE Kouga and Konoha as characters and can empathise much better with them than with Jin. Even so Jin haven't done a single thing I could like him for yet.

Aside from my hate for the lead character and love for the side ones (that are probably going to be treated as the "bad" ones and losing side), this episode was extremely boring to me even though I like fighting anime. Heck, I even started surfing the net in the middle of it. XD Maybe it's because I don't care about the lead at all, so whatever happens to him couldn't bother me less.If he was at least a love-to-hate character so that I would watch it just to see him get beaten up but he's the hate-to-see type. I give it 2 or 3 more episodes before I drop this. I might start the manga though.

Just one question for the manga readers, is Jin such a douchebag and not-likeable idot in manga as well? Does it have more Kouga and/or Konoha than anime so far?

And there i was happy the poor woman survived in the previous episode only for them to kill her in this one.
That old man is eeeevil. And his friend being spoiled and having wrong influences seems to being pushed in a twisted idea of justice. He may very well become Jin's biggest enemy in the future.

I haven't read the manga but I just feel that something was off in this episode.
First of all, we see the characters grown up just like that right off the bat and with no transition whatsoever. I really don't like voices for the Jin and Kouga and Jin's awakening was sort of bland and lacking.
Gonna have to take a look a the manga later.

Well the first episode felt like a prequel story (they were kids), but this actually felt like a true start to the anime. Jin was pretty cool and the action was intense. The story feels so dark and such which is unusual for the type of anime I like but with such a compelling character as Jin I will stay watching. His personality is so cool and he actually looks pretty epic. Even more so the fight was so epic that characters shirts disintegrated in true shonen fashion.

That being said I loved the ending moments and so many emotions. Cant wait for episode three.

They look older than Junior High age...

The voice of Kouga is Miyano Mamoru, the voice of Light from Death Note, while Jin's voice is Ulquiorra from Bleach. So I guess it's good enough for me ;D

This episode was a real let down. The first episode has a lot of charm and heart in a dreary atmosphere but this episode lost all of that to become generic shounen. However, it's even worse than that because the pacing so bad. I haven't read the manga but it's pretty obvious they are cutting some crucial things to hurry the anime up and it shows.

The characterization just feels so off because of the rushed pacing. The transition from kids to adults was just plain jarring. Kouga has turned into a giant self absorbed douche and Jin has no personality, he's just generic protagonist A.

The end of this episode looked like a clip show or a preview because it kept skipping around with so much happening. All in all this was a big disappointment after a solid first episode.

I find him insufferable in this adaptation. Too calm, cool and "bishonen-perfect", not nearly jokey enough

I was hoping that the later episodes would slow down in regards to chapters covered. First episode covered 12 chapters. Guess how many this one covered and skipped a lot of events? 13!

I'm a bit disappointed that Jin didn't use his "half-way form" in this fight like he did in the manga.

This anime should be called Cutman. The hevae cut so many stuff. The first scene, where Konoha is helping the people is the first chapter in the manga whiile Konoha is a child.
The fight between Jin and that fire monster hapened around the 20th chapter. They adapted almost 25 chapter in two episodes. This is how much they are skipping from manga.
