Horror is a tough genre in anime but it's also one I love not just in anime but in any medium. This was a tough list for me to compile because sadly there just aren't that many worthy horror anime out there. I included High School of the Dead and Gyo to round out the list even though they really don't have to right atmospheres to make a horror anime, still I enjoyed them for what they were.

In general I will watch any kind of anime as long as it entertains me. As you can see from my list of favorites there is at least one entry from almost every genre. I'm willing to try anything but dark and atmospheric stories are the ones I love most. If you know any good ones that aren't on my list then please tell me about it.

good Kokoro Connect review in the forum section. I completely agree with you, though I thought the anime was pretty good a few episodes in, and I liked the episode where everybody thought Iori was going to die. The rest was ass though.
