This really is a heartwarming show. Glad to see Natsume come to terms (even if only a little bit) with his past by making up with a kid who had bullied him. I really like it when he makes friends with someone who knows his secret. That kind of friendship seems more stable to me.

I agree. I also thought it was good that Shiba recognized that he was a jerk to Natsume when he was younger and in this episode. wonder if Natsume is able to forgive him, and act irritated(normal responses) instead of wimpy because he has had to deal with youkai; who would take advantage and attack someone who radiates weakness. Which means he doesn't become debilitated or scared when he encounters pain or bullying. Although Natsume still acts timid and a little reclusive, he still has his own strength/determination.

As always, a good episode. Its kinda mean how when Natsume was trying to help the Shibata guy he didnt want to believe him and got all aggressive and called him a lair :(
I mean anybody would be like wtf if somebody said that rarara person isnt actually a person... but since Shibata was already suspicious he didnt need to go all angus at him. but at the end they all made up :)
yayay.

Another nice natsume episode. I just can't get enough of Nyanko-sensei's antics.

I was sure Natsume was going to punch out the ghost girl when he was attacked, like he usually does but only Nyanko felt his fist of fury this time lol

More hints of BL. But for some reason this is the only show that hints faggotry that I actually can stand.

Also, Nyanko-sensei is funny as hell.
There is no hint of "faggotry" in this show at all. Maybe you're just stupid?
Apparently, having friends of your own sex is an act of 'faggotry'. So apparently we all are faggots IRL.
I don't understand human kind sometimes.

You don't understand 'cause you are a fag yourself.

Seriously? I know normal same sex friendship but OBVIOUSLY there's something going on. When they look at each others' eyes oh god soooooooooo gay. People can be dense sometimes. Just keepin it real here you delusional fanboys.

<_<

I don't see any faggotry in the show, and especially not in this episode. Even a real yaoi fangirl agrees seriously. The only ones I get BL vibes is from that weirdo pedophile lizard guy but he doesn't really count anyway.

Keep your rude comments to yourself. I think the only one who is blind here is you, since you are so insecure that even friendliness registers as being gay. This is a Japanese show. Asian guys are more open to being close and touchy because no matter how "girly" they may act, they know their sexuality and so does everyone else. Guys wash each other's backs and such in Asia, which will be immediately marked as being really gay and awkward in America. It's such a strange difference in culture really.

No, I'm not a delusional fanboy and no I'm not a fan of yaoi either. But your tone is unneeded.

Anyway, I'm glad the show is taking Natsume's development to another level. The animation quality was a bit lower though, but expected I guess...

If you think like that about Natori (the weirdo pedophile lizard guy exorcist with sparkles everywhere), I wonder what will you think of Matoba once he appears? *If you don't read the manga*

This was a sweet episode, and I'm glad we got to meet a character from Natsume's past. This show knows how to work with a new kind of conflict, and the story with the boy and the yokai was rather touching.

Pretty much standard Natsume Yuujinchou episode IMO (in a good way of course)

It was predictable but it managed to made me laugh so hard. Nyanko-sensei FTW!!! :D

There are no real enemies so far in Natsume. I like that, but I didn't like Shibata. Wanted to punch him once or twice... But good episode. Nice and sad. XD

So basically she was similar to a dryad and as her tree withered and died, she died too. Very sad for both her and Shigata. If they were both human you could always hope for a better end in the next incarnation, but I'm not sure if youkai come back.

this episode had a good share of laughs and emotions

madara was really funny, with his dried squid and blowdryer antics lol

but the ending really had me going, hadn't shed tears like that for a while
although she never said, its safe to assume that murasaki fell in love with shibata as well, and that final goodbye and running through the hill for the last time just brought out the tears

as much of a dick as shibata was, im glad he apologized at the end
natsume really has the patience of a saint, going through all that for shibata even after how rude shibata was to him

this series is just so damn amazing

Exactly what happens to a youkai that causes it to die? And does it just disappear from existence?

I can't believe he just forgive Shibata like that. He is one of the reason Natsume have to move to new place. And what the heck, Shibata did not even properly apologize to Natsume about what he did before. From the way i see it, he only come to Natsume when it is convenience for him. And he still doesn't believe Natsume till the end.( Like when Natsume give him Murasaki letter).

Please show some emotion Natsume. Show us more of your wrath. If it's me, i would ask one of my ghost friend to scared Shibata so hard that he pee on his pants.

Episode sweet, this third season started a bit like the first set, full of feelings, a lot more than those seen in the second season. The plot makes a move I did not expect going to dig into the past of Natsume and in his dealings with those who were around during his childhood, a small wound heals and the excuse to tell a beautiful love story, magnificent! Nyanko-sensei is always the best when it comes to having fun.

On Shigeru's birthday Natsume runs into Shibata, an old grade school classmate of his who asks for his help investigating Murasaki, a young girl who he suspects might be a youkai. Well another bittersweet episode to add onto the ever increasing pile. XD Shibata came off too douchey, early on anyway, for me to get emotionally invested enough to get teary eyed while Murasaki and he had their final goodbye. But I suppose the scene itself was nice. Nyanko-sensei had several adorable moments that stood out far more than the main story this time though. Oh, and happy birthday Shigeru! XD

If Natsume stopped paying so much attention to other boys, maybe he could get a girlfriend of his own too.

Bath scene +1

Loving the fanservice here.

This was pretty much of an old post but still gold, I guess? By the way, just wanted to quote this because I find it to be quite funny and agreeable, somehow.

Lmao, yeah, Natsume could have get himself a girlfriend in no time but I just thought that maybe he wanted to focus more in loving or taking care of his adoptive parents. Even so, it is more like Natsume being the usual him.

Aside from that, it was actually weird but not that weird to make an idea of a character falling in love with a youkai but this episode is surely quite something for me, it is just heartwarming and somewhat lovely. It would also have been nice if Shibata and Murasaki were a real human-beings couple and surely they would make a good one, especially for Shibata's actions in accepting her and how Murasaki even corresponded to him.
