Definitely worth it. There's also the works from Honjou, Rei. Ikura Nandemo Suki is really cute, I love it. What else... Kusumoto, Hiroki's Beast of the Tower is really good too :3

I started watching anime when I was studying Japanese and I wanted to watch Japanese videos to get listening practice. I ran out of live action Japanese movies to rent, and then I remembered seeing anime mentioned on the Web, and I checked out the anime rental section at my local Blockbuster.
I didn't know what to watch, but I always liked sci-fi, so I decided to try a movie called, "Beautiful Dreamer" (the second Urusei Yatsura movie), which looked like it had potential. I watched it and was totally blown away by it, so much so that I re-watched it the very next day before returning the video. I then started to hunt down all of the Urusei Yatsura movies and TV shows that I could find on video.
I joined a Urusei Yatsura mailing list and there I ran into a Japanese girl who wanted to trade tapes of Japanese TV programs with someone who would trade tapes of US TV programs. (Remember, this was before Internet video downloading.)
I asked her to tape anime for me, and she asked me to tape soap operas, TV dramas and so on. (There's no accounting for taste... LOL). Everything that she sent to me was raw off of Japanese TV, so I got a LOT of practice listening to and understanding Japanese!
We did this for 6 years, and at one point we were sending each other 4 to 6 tapes per week. We even met in person a few times when I went to Japan on business and she came to Canada to study English. Finally, she moved to Hawaii and I had to start to download anime from the web, which I still do.
So I still watch anime all the time. My Japanese friend married an American and now lives permanently in Hawaii, working as a real estate agent, so she gets to watch American TV without taping it.
After all these years, Urusei Yatsura is still my all time favorite anime series from a sentimental point of view, and I still like comedy anime when new ones appear. But I always try out almost all of the new anime that debut every new season, because I never know when the next "UY" will come out of nowhere to grab my attention.
