Gah, back on track with the tear-jerking. Nice episode, but appendix cancer? Remove it! If his cancer hadn't metastisized (meaning spread throughout the rest of the body) it shouldn't be a problem. The human body doesn't need an appendix unless this is an Eastern thought that it is a necessity? Western medical society still don't know the purpose of the organ.

They said he was alrddy at the last state of cancer so i think it was alrddy spread through the body.

Great episode! I was really touched when she was telling him to wake up because it was already past lunchtime ^^ That almost made me cry (and I haven't cried in anything yet that other people have ^^). If it would have followed on, and had a good reaction at the end, I probably would have... but her reaction was too weird. Switching back and forth between the game was expected, but just shutting it off? But her bursting into tears would have seemed awkward, too. I don't know what I expected, but it just didn't seem right...

It was absolutely the same for me. Her reaction was weird and destroyed a lot of the melancholic feeling.

Nevertheless, I am amazed and deeply moved!

Havent felt so sad after watching an Anime episode for a very long time. When I think about it, it was nearly exactly 10 years ago. 1998/1999....watching the end of the last episode of Cowboy Bebop. ;)

Its weird to get this kind of emotions. Man.....Im just too old to cry over an animated cartoon. Ha....Im really a bit ashamed of myself right now. But somehow it releases a lot of stress. ^^

I think shutting it off was symbolic of her understanding that the cancer guy (who designed the game) was truly gone. Seemed pretty obvious, but that could just be me.

I arrived at the same conclusion, but it kinda confuses you for a while since you expect a different reaction.

I knew from the beginning it wasn't Fumika the postal worker- it was made clear in previous episodes that she wasn't allowed out of the house until middle school, or have you all forgotten that? XD
Hey, you can't blame us for forgetting some details when we are starving for some Fumika. Thankfully for them, they can actually make things like this work since they don't harp on details so much. The only constant is always the fact Fumika shot his dad and before we knew the truth, the "Fumika can age" thing.

I was also a bit startled at the beginning of thise episode, but then I thought... ''Wait... We haven't seen Fumi outside, except for school'', but it still seemed vague to me. At first she didn't know what it meant to be dead, now she does. I feel sorry for that man, he had such a sad life. Is he finally doing something good... Dead. =(

I wonder what's going to happen now the coma-Fumi has awakened. Will the shigofumi deliverer dissappear and get into real Fumi's head? And it looks like that she's going to have a hard time with all the talking and all. It wouldn't surprise me if she ended up dying in the end... Even if it would be sad. It just fits somehow.

I think he did not have a sad life. He was doing what he really wanted to do: Drawing and being good at it, so that people appreciate his work. Ok, it could have been more fullfilled (wife + kids + respect from parents), but noones life is perfect.

Ok, during the episode he seemed to be very depressed and gloomy, but that was just because of his fear of death. Im sure, before the cancer-detection he was a cheerful guy (just think of the flashback).

The best episode of shigofumi since the first few. Now I remember why I was comparing it to Kino no Tabi earlier in the series.

Not really. That was the first thing that came to my mind, actually, but I just assumed that her mother took her out just once, and Fumika was simply overlooking that one time when she said 'never'. Or she could have forgotten, or maybe she didn't remmember that occasion because the other personality wasn't yet formed. There were really scores of other perfectly reasonable explanations, which were also statistically more likely than 2 characters with the same name in a series.... I mean, how many times did that happen? =o

Decent episode; the Animal Crossing referencing made me smile. Though the perspective given as he's pushing Fumika out of the way made it seem like he was nearly out of the way himself, but who knows.

My favourite episode yet. Great story telling.
i dont get why people see so many flaws in it. Every detail fits and explains to the story.
I guess maybe some people have trouble understanding a 30 year old man.

Fairly interesting story, I along everyone else(I suppose) thought that it was a story about Fumika's childhood in the beginning. I was more thinking that the kid met Chiaki before they revealed Fumika's face.
Anyways, Fumika opened her eyes! It'll be really interesting to see what happens next.

I really liked this episode, one of my fav till now :) It's really touching and painfull to see how that poor man gets arrested (cauz one of the family members said that the little Fumika was kidnapped or something???) and the fact that he was so depressed. I loved the flashback, it was nice to see how he loved drawing ^^
It was interesting to see the episode through the eyes of the "receiver" instead of through the eyes of Fumika..

She opened her eyes! So, now the white haired Fumika will "merge withing the other "real" Fumika/dissapear"? I'm wondering what'll happen :)

Wow, what a great episode. Kinda goes back to the more human-center...ness of the first few episodes. Really sad story, in the end, but at least he saved the little girl.

And now....Fumika has woke up. I wonder what that means for Mika? I didn't see her in the preview. I really wonder how it's all going to end. I really have no ideas.

I think that Mika is dead, and Fumi is alive- so only Fumi has woke up (not Fumika).

The episode was really good and very touching

2. So that little fumika seems to be the step-sister of the real fumika, since her mom remarried

I know they're not related but the cops didn't know if were or not when they arrested him right? So say the situation changes and they're blood-related, I guess walking around with your niece or nephew would get you arrested huh -___-

What's with the truck? It's not like the two of them suddenly leaped in front of it, they were standing on the spot for a long time. Instead of slowing down, it bulldozed right through them.

Great episode, tear jerking...chibi Fumika was adorable. Her reaction at the funeral set me off, so innocent.

Same, her lack of understanding of what death was was really sad. I mean I was already crying before, when Takehito saved Fumika and in his last moment felt that "it [life] wasn't all that bad" when he saw that his design and work did make people happy. I agree that Fumika fiddling with her console was symbolic of her processing what death is, how she went into the game, and then went back to start screen, and then pressing "continue" again. She thought Takehito could just continue from where he left off.

It is a bit ridiculous that two episodes in a row we have death by vehicle accident, but to dwell on that would be missing the point of the episode, which was to show that even a short life can be fulfilling. Sure he may have not lived most of his adulthood with happiness, and found out his life would be cut short, but in the end, he had forgotten his purpose, and when he remembered it, it was like a closure.

An episode that strikes straight to the heart and hardness, as it was in the first two episodes. Narrative that is a clear warning to Japanese society in its appearances, habits, etc. The Shigofumi would really want us to be able to report our latest thoughts. But the beauty of the episode is that it is not limited to this, but it also cares about carrying the main plot, what a show this time.

I felt like the writing in this episode was pretty weak. I liked what they were going for, but the way everything played out was just too contrived for me too feel very invested—didn't really make me feel sad so much as it made me think, "oh, that was sad," if that makes any sense.

What the hell is wrong with that police officer, accusing people, and moreso a victim of a violent attack, without any proof.
