Great setup, and surprisingly much happens for a arc-starting episode. In particular, they're really getting their kicks in on Saji, and the internal CB power struggle is gonna be great.

If there is one...Why do I expect that everything what happened is part of Veda's/Aeolia's plan? The last seconds of this episode seem to confirm my assumptions, since Alejandro looked like a noob there, while Ribbonz was calm.

I agree now that it's pretty much been confirmed that Livonze Almark (green hair) is an android, it would make sense that he would be part of Aeolia's plans. I think he exists for the sole purpose of helping Lord Corner (orange hair), and thus helping Aeolia in the grand scheme of things somehow... Wang Liu Mei's crew just lost a bunch of brownie points for supporting the Trinities. At least Hong Long seems opposed to her move, we might see him break off in the second season. As for Saji's sister, I'm pretty sure shes going to die, but she somehow manages to leave some info behind for Saji to go off of. Looks like CB has one last card for their Gundams as well, GN arms (or whatever it was called).

I wonder how Saji will react to Kinue death or... if she's still alive, I kinda feel sorta sad for him it's like he didn't deserve what is happening.

Saw that coming......I am proud most of my predictions becoming true (Kinue dying, Wang liu mei siding with Trinity, etc.)....

Sukotsutsu stated most of my theories and thoughts on the political aspects.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the name of the president that whatshisface (the mercenary guy) met with is named Laguna -- also the name of the system giving Trinity orders....

On a different front, it's interesting that we've seen Tieria smile, and not Setsuna. Which, I am also wondering, if all these androids are alive to carry out Schonburg's plans, why is Tieira "confused"? This obviously must also be part of his plan, but why? Is Tieria a lesser android? Will we see a "battle of the androids" before the show is up? xD

I loved the music box melody at the beginning (I'm a sucker for stuff like that) and I hope before the show is done, we do get to see Saji and Louise in space, for whatever reason. I also expected the sister to die or be critically wounded, but I didn't anticipate it happening this fast. (Sidenote: I found the stem cell thing cool -- I wonder why the beam does that?)

I really like how the playing field has been levelled out with the introduction of the GN-X suits for the various military factions. Now the battles should be a little less one sided.

Did Alejandro calling himself "Lord Corner" give anyone else flashbacks to Zechs Marquise/Char, sans the MS piloting? Dunno why, it just felt...nostalgic?

Trinity's in a lot of trouble now that the other countries can defend themselves. Though, as I thought, it sucks that Graham won't be getting in a GN-X. w/e.
I didn't think there would be more than one cyborg/android, but in a world where there's more than one Haro, why not? The end was really sweet, but I'm still looking forward to Alejandro getting boned over hard later.
Apparently Lagna is the fake GN drive producer? Which means he prolly is also giving orders to Trinity. That'll be an interesting angle to follow.

first off id like to say this ep was amazing. Second GN-X reminds me of Gundam X.

Now to start it off, Tieria is not an Android he's a Cyborg.

I agree with the above people that think it's all part of the plan as well to have that guy go to the moon and see Veda. I almost got the feeling that he took him to that room to kill him lol. Did anyone else feel like that when seeing the weird kid have a smile?

Also, I'm still confused about the Saji and Louise relationship. Did they brake up or did she just tell him to go home?

-10 points for Wang Liu Mei

Yeah...for some reason I also feel that the kid had some weird smile in the face as if something evil(cool?) like the death of the Alejandro guy would happen soon XD...

On a side not tho...if I got it right, they weren't able to regenerate Louise's arm through stem cell regeneration because the cells near the place where she was shot were badly damaged by the GN particles...but in that case, seeing that their technology is capable of regenerating a limb from nothing (since the rest of the arm is obviously gone and that they implied that they could do it on normal people) couldn't they just amputate that part that was damaged and let it regrow from...idk her shoulder or something oO

As for the relationship between Louise and Saji, I don't really think they officially broke up...its just that she didn't want him to stay there and waste his time watching over her anymore...

Ya I was thinking the same thing. If her stem cells died at the end of the arm why not re-cut it and use fresh stem cells from the new cut or better yet from the other arm. The only thing I can think of is most of her body's stem cells, not just her arm, where probably effected in a way that prevents her from having the procedure (ie. her body wouldn't take to the new arm well). If thats the case then it makes sense but who really knows lol.

They said at the site, the stem cells were affected. I don't think it has anything to do with re-growing the hand, but rather, attaching the new hand. If the stem cells can't turn into new skin cells and reform the matrix with the new hand... it wouldn't attach. At least, this was my theory. We can't do anything like this in modern technology, so I can't say for sure ^^;

In that way, I think the beam affected their reproducibility. Of course, that couldn't really make sense because it means she would end up getting gangrene or something at the point of injury because you're constantly shedding your skin cells as your stem cells turn into skin cells, and your body makes more stem cells. I dunno xD I'm an engineer, not an anatomist.

As far as i understood. The damage is on the whole body, due to the red gn particle radiation. In a sense, stem cells unable to recover is...bad. All I would say, that we can fully expect her to die from cancer in few months/years...

THAT is an episode. Powerful plot, political aspects evolving fast and a lot of character development are exactly what Gundam is all about. I'm glad that Sunrise improved the general level of the series because the 1st part (episode 1 to 13) was really not up to the Gundam standards, but now they are getting better and better... and this episode is really great.

Yes, that is what is hinted. The radiation from the GN particle may have cause cellular mutation in her whole body not just her arm. I wouldn't be surprised if she has cancer or a deadly disease (like leukymia) later on.

OK, Here is the thing: IS IT POSSIBLE that the GN Drive given to the three countries are TAMPERED. Some kind of remote-control deactivation device can be installed. For all that we know, they could BLOW UP at crucial moment......And don't forget Nadleedh's secret weapon.

I am nearly sure that GN Particles and GN Drives are KEY to changing the world. Is there some HIDDEN functions inside GN Drive, and especially the ORiGINAL ones. The original Gundams may have SECRET abilities that the red GN Drive doesn't have....Pure speculations though....

Wang liu mei says "kawaranai no nara, kowarete mo ii to (?) omou hodo ni" literally "I would even think that if the world does not change, it should get destroyed" How she stated it is PURE HATE towards the world. This is not good since she is loyal to Aeolia's plan, which hints that Aeolia's ideologies are really questionable.

Really, i pity the Trinity. They are fools being played around with.....(reminds me of Raider, Calamity and Forbidden in SEED) And VEDA is revealed, THAT is SO from FOUNDATION series by Asimov....unbelievable. And the green-haired guy, everyone can see he is manipulating Alejandro Corner.... WTF do they want to do with Veda?

Kinue is not confirmed to be dead yet. But from the episode preview we see Saji looking down at what? Kinue's grave? or something else?

Something terrible will fall on the world (it sounds like prophecy...but too many foreshadowing anyway....) that WILL change it. Here are some examples:
-all technology fails due to some permanent GN Particle shield....Not very likely because we need a second season....But this idea is inspired to me from the not-popular and short manga MARII no kanaderu ongaku by Usamaru Furuya, where a futuristic world is at peace because technology is impossible due to "Marie's music", a device disrupting all scientific achievement.
-Veda planned it all, GN Drives somehow comes into play and get all weapon technology disabled.....well I don't know HOW....
-Mass destruction of the world...maybe a Genesis-like weapon all over again???? (Wang liu mei will choose this one for sure)
-Veda = Skynet = super AI take-over of the world.....

Now the question is: what kind of cliffhanger is going to happen at the end of season 1? Is it a time gap? Is it a Code Geass style cliffhanger?

This is getting me fired up....

I also agree, considering these particles come from a 'solar furnace', the sun's fusion is similar to the reaction of a nuclear bomb which has deadly after effects for the still living, it would effect the body in some way similar to the bomb.

I'll also go and post my theories on possible endings/plot left in the 5 episodes (which are probably going to be a long shot off) to S1 since I'm feeling crazy, With each passing ep I'll try to update it accordingly...
The plot:
--season ending 1: Veda (#1) is destroyed (possibly causing CB's android to lose his pwnage power), throwing back the only true 'threat' to the world, CB into the stone age
-Cause:With Lord Corner finally getting physical access to Veda(#1, I have reason to believe there is another 'backup'), he now has substantial leverage against CB
--SE2: The nations disband the alliance
-Cause 1: The merc for his own reasons betrays the new Gundams
-Cause 2: The alliances ever so naive in 'destroying' the Trinitys, believe that they are powerful enough to take on the remaining 4 Gundams on their own
-Cause 3: CB is actually captured, leaving little reason to have the alliance
--SE3: The solar tower is attacked, turning peace into ruins
-Cause: Unknown, Some guy gets drunk and pushes the self-destruct button ><

Along the way/towards the end:
Ep 21: the new gundams attack CB, ending of ep: all of the CB gundam/most have been taken out
Ep 22: Saji Time! XD, Saji's role for the season ending begins to take shape, 3/4 of the gundams are taken, leaving one left alone somehow for a 'GN arms'
Ep 23: Trinty group is possibly shown still alive, turns out whats-her-face saves their lives somehow, GN arms is given to the remaining CB gundam, pilot makes plans to save the rest...
Ep 24: The rescue attempt is made ending on either failure, and ends up teaming up with Trinity, or success..., more Saji/Lord Corner time, possibly more WTH happened on Jupiter
Ep 25: See season endings above..., part of Aeolia's plan is finally revealed in the beginning, or at least vaguely hinted at
and woot!, that was fun, I don't think I've been this hyped since watching Code Geass, here's to an unpredictable ending...

Thats what I'm thinking too, since it would make no sense if it only effected one of her arms. Stem cells are similar throughout your body so if it was only effecting one of her arms they could have just used cells from her other arm and re-grew it. Poor girl :(.

It's my understanding from ep 19 that Harvey is the president of Linear Train Enterprises. Ali Al-Saachez also asks to be placed in any military, implying that Harvey is shipping suits to more than one country. Ep 19 also contained dialouge implying that Harvey could produce and move all of the suits at his leisure. That being said, I retract my statement that Laguna's giving orders...he kinda seems like a middle-man. I'd agree that Corner's prolly indirectly giving orders to Trinity. I'd be interested to see what he meant by the "suit in one piece" comment, though.
Also, if the green-haired guy hacked Veda, I'd be curious to know what Nena was doing in Veda...

Well anyways this was an awesome episode, earth military forces now also have GN Drives but at least it seems they have the same ones as Trinity and not like the original CB's. Saji's sister is now probably dead so thats probably going to push him over the edge.
And Veda's headquarters was discovered so who knows whats going to happen now.
So many things are going on, I can't wait to see what happens next^^

That was interesting.

So is that Laguna guy behind the new Gundams or what? He doesn't seem like much to me. And why did he gave engines to the governments whoever is behind this. And is it part of the original plan?
That UN guy is doing something suspicious now and that green hair guy next to him is even more suspicious. What are they planning?

Is Saji's sister dead?
