When the oddly peculiar Mikoto Urabe transfers into Akira Tsubaki's class, he finds that life has thrown him the weirdest curve ball ever. Because while Urabe may be an anti-social loner who sleeps on her desk, carries a pair of scissors in her underwear and breaks out in sudden fits of insane laughter, there's something about her that Tsubaki just can't quite put his finger on. Until he accidentally puts his finger in it, and suddenly the phrase "sharing spit with a girl" takes on an entirely new meaning! Before he can wipe her drool off his face, Tsubaki is mysteriously addicted to Urabe, which isn't half as strange as the fact that she not only finds this normal, but already seems to have plans for her new drooling boyfriend.

On today’s episode of “Oh Anime, Why Do You Continue To Be As Uncomfortably Weird As Legally Possible?”, we have a supernatural high school romance ecchi show focusing on telekinetic saliva and possible aliens. That bit with the saliva seems to be the make or break factor when people decide to watch this anime or not. You can either take so much relationship building via drool (I never thought I’d type that sentence), or you can’t deal with the spit and flee to a different anime to watch, or maybe at that point you’ve had it with consistently weird shit and burn anything having to read more

Now, now, now. I've been informed that certain people think that Nazo no Kanojo is ecchi. I've also been informed that a lot of people think it's bad that it has some originality. Well, guess what? It ain't so. Not often will you find an anime which revolves around drool, and this one did a damn fine job in doing so. So, you think that people sharing drool is nasty? Well, guess what, it is. Oh, but you watched only the first episode of the anime and took upon yourself to be an arse and immediatelly toss it aside? Well, guess what, not all anime read more

It is safe to say that the core concept of which this anime is built on, the saliva mind meld, is pretty obscure, if not totally weird. However, although Nazo no Kanojo X goes to the absolute extremes of weirdness in some areas, it is perhaps the single most realistic in others.

So I'm not going to talk about the drool, that may be what drew me to Nazo no Kanojo X initially, but it is not what kept me watching, it is not the part that I love about this anime.

Most romance anime, especially school-based romance, are ludicrously unrealistic. We see the tsundere girl, the read more

This anime is a little bit tricky, while at first you're like WTF? is he/she really doing that? and by that i mean, they interchange saliva but then you will be thinking that that's romantic for some reason lol and end up liking a lot this anime.

The story at first is really weird, but it starts to grow on you in every episode and you want to know more about this weird relationship between Mikoto Urabe and Akira Tsubaki and how is it that just with saliva they feel what the other feels, you don't get to exactly know the reason but it's very good read more

Anime: Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou
Both main characters uses scissors and both anime are of the comedy genre.

Anime: Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge
Characters with an unusual fetish, scissors being similar to both series. They are attached to each other and also have a daily routine to be fulfilled.

Anime: B Gata H Kei
Young people make the same kinds of discoveries throughout. B Gata H Kei manages to be simultaneously more perverted and less disgusting, but then, it has a distinct shortage of spit sucking.

Anime: Bakemonogatari
Strange girlfriends, uniqueness, comedy, and drama. What else more could you want? Anyways, these two anime(s) are unique in their way of not only the story but the way it's played out. In both series, the protagonist meets a strange girl whom they eventually date and face other obstacles together. Both series has have hints of supernatural-like elements as well as being difficult to predict what happens next.

Anime: Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!
Welcome to mayhem. That describes the main characters life once they hook up with a girl who happens to look very similar in both series if one puts aside the style differences. Both end up putting up with a lot.

Anime: Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui!
Both of these animes feel embarrassing and awkward to watch. And the main leads are both equally sad. With Watashi being more embarrassing, and Nazo being more awkward. Both of these series might be harder to complete then others. And I do not think I'm up for that task.
