In the December issue of Afternoon magazine, an announcement will be made that a two-chapter special of the "Mushishi" manga will be published.

This announcement also includes news of a "top secret project" that is in the works for the series. More info on this project will come via the wraparound jacket band that is included in the deluxe keepsake edition volumes of the original manga. The first and second volumes are expected to ship on November 21, 2013, while the third volume is expected to ship on December 20, 2013. It is not specified which volume this announcement will be included with.

The original "Mushishi" manga was published from 1999 to 2008 and received an anime adaptation which aired from October 2005 to June 2006.

Thing is: the possibility of rotoscoping actually deployed in this Mushishi cannot be dismissed altogether. And the director did not help by saying in interview that he will make some notable changes from the original manga and he will be happy if the audience ask "how come it looks like this?". Sounds suspicious, doesn't it? He may mean story change or setting change, but of course it can mean, horror, change in sakuga or art. It is hard to tell.

If they rotoscoped Mushishi I would give it a 10 and switch every other entry on my list to a 1.
I can see how a news mod can unintentionally spread unfounded rumors.... anyway, so far we are not seeing any evidence that rotoscoping will be used in Mushishi.
I know, haha. I'm just messing around.

Lesson learned: Check News Board before writing any new post ;-)

That's why I didn't. I just did it here as an "additional info" post, not an "official" news post.
Well I said "new post" not "news post" ;-) , but I agree that it is even more important to check the news board if you are thinking of posting "news post" which start a news thread.

The Anime staff will be the same(?) and the TV anime series and will use the skill that used to create Aku no Hana.
This is not true. I think you have mistranslated the article in animeanime.

What? Does this mean that they will use the same artsyle that is similar to Aku no Hana?
There is inaccurate translation. No mention of Aku no Hana technique is made in the news source. Aku no Hana was mentioned only because of its association with the director (what other thing the director is known for), not about this anime per se.

Sorry it is repeated, but it's my own ver. from both Anime! Anime! and Natalie (not from ANN nor Wind-Sr's new post about the same thing).

Well I was honestly hoping for more but can't be too picky I guess. More Mushishi is always a blessing no matter how long. Very much looking forward to this.

If they announce S2 I will wet my pants.

I will wet my pants every day that I wait for the season to air, and then I'll wet my pants every time I watch a new episode, and i will wet my pants every day I wait for the airing of the next episode. My organs will have to work super fast to produce so much wetness, so I must keep my self well hydrated.

Fantastic news, just hoping the same director is back for this project.

I changed my mind. I want everyone back, especially Toshio Masuda as the composer. That's how good the music direction and osts are in Mushishi.

Mushishi wouldn't be Mushishi without that guy.

Agreed.

Hoping for a second season.

You've got that right. :D
