omgg people are actually watching Venus Senki!! Yea I've included series where the story (be it background exposition or even a random calendar in the background) mentions a date that has already come to pass! In Venus Senki the exposition in the very first minute mentions an asteroid colliding with Venus, stripping part of its atmosphere and the colonization starting in 2018 like you mentioned. Both are mentioned on the notes on the list :> Cowboy Bebop has been added for a similar reason, with the series being set in 2071, but the first Astral Gate having been built in 2021!

The two are definitely outliers so I haven't remembered to update the description. On the other hand idk how I'd explain that briefly since I'm not a native speaker (￣▽￣*) Do you have a suggestion on how I'd clearly but quickly express that I've included cases like Venus Senki and Cowboy Bebop too?

Hi Ebo, you're very welcome! :) Good to know that Zetsuen no Tempest is apparently very similar to Moriarty, I've been wanting to watch that one for quite some time now. And yeah, sometimes I want to watch similar things immediately and sometimes after a break so I can enjoy it later :D
I also always like it when I get a show I had never heard of and I hope you enjoy Shigofumi. Episodic anime can be a bit hard to watch (at least for me) but can also be enjoyable depending on what it is.
Yeah that Lance anime lol, I could only watch it because I was watching it with friends (that made it bearable lol) so don't feel like you have to watch it. I wanted to give you something shorter but you watched so many of these already! My trash watching level wasn't high enough :'D
And yeah, I also realized later that these anime aren't that old haha... I guess I was too focused on how I currently divide anime into "new" (everything now minus the last 3-4 years or so) and the rest. But in terms of anime years, they're still not really that old haha.
2024 has been great for me so far, I hope for you too!
