'GloriousHawk' was my old profile I can no longer access.
Come with me,
We'll conquer the unknown,
Where no one's ever flown,
To one star that we'll make our own.
Where the universe ends,
Our world begins,
Somewhere beyond the dawn
I got into anime in the 1980s, once I found out what it was, I had seen anime in the 1960 and 70s, but I didn't know at that time it was anime. I saw anime shows on the local TV station in the 1960 and 70s.
I remember bits and pieces of the anime in the 1960s, I liked the anime shows better than the cartoons at that time. One of the first anime that I knew was an anime was Akira, it was shown at a specialty theatre, here in Calgary, it was dubbed, but I liked it nonetheless.

Most of the anime I saw on local TV and later on in theaters. The first anime that I watched, that I knew was an anime, was Akira. It was shown in a specialty theater, later on, I saw the Pokemon movies in a regular theater.
The anime that I had seen in the 1960s was Astro Boy, Kimba the White Lion, and Marine Boy. Later on, I saw Battle of the Planets, Thunderbirds 2086, and Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs.
It wasn't until the 1980s that when certain anime was airing, like Sailor Moon, Pokemon Dragon Ball, Monster Rancher, and a few others, that I knew that those were anime.
As the internet was getting better and better, I could download anime.
Here is a list of anime that I am downloading: Bastard!! - Ankoku no Hakaishin, Boruto - Naruto Next Generations, Bucchigire!, CHIMIMO, Digimon Ghost Game, Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darou ka IV, Fuuto Tantei, Hataraku Maou-sama!!, Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo, Isekai Yakkyoku, Kinsou no Vermeil, Koukaku Kidoutai - SAC_2045 Season 2, Kumichou Musume to Sewagakari, Kuro no Shoukanshi, Lycoris Recoil, Meng Qi Shi Shen - Huanxi Zhui Hun, Obey Me S2, Oishinbo, ORIENT 2nd Cour, Overlord IV, Pokemon 2019, Prima Doll, RWBY - Hyosetsu Teikoku, Saikin Yatotta Maid ga Ayashii, SHADOWS HOUSE 2nd Season, Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life, Yofukashi no Uta, Yoru wa Neko to Issho, Yowai 5000-nen no Soushoku Dragon, Iwarenaki Jaryuu Nintei, and Yurei Deco.
Because of my love of anime, I have done a few presentations, most at Otafest, a local anime convention and I belong to an anime group, JAWS, which is an acronym for Japanese Anime Watchers Society. Before that, it was the Japananimation Watchers Society. But JAWS is on hiatus because of Covid, but when the all-clear is given, JAWS will be up and running.
Oh cool, I appreciate that. I hope you can make some progress with your own story as well. I know writing can be daunting, but it does feel nice having a physical copy of something you, yourself, created on your shelf.
Since as noticed you have Eva in your favorites, I'm just letting you know, that I recently just made a forum thread talking about Evangelion's use of visual motifs, symbolism, subtext, and etc. here: https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=2020103

I do have a head made for stupid shit as well though ;p
Anyways, have a good week end !
It feels like the type of show that I'm really into. You know the slow and atmospheric shows like Mushishi, Haibane Renmei, and etc.
Have you seen it though?

Best of luck, I'm sure you'll be successful!
