'Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3' Reveals New Staff, Teaser Promo for Winter 2026, Compilation Movie Announced for Fall 2025

The special livestream program for the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series revealed new staff and a teaser promo for third season on Sunday. The first part of the third season, subtitled Shimetsu Kaiyuu (The Culling Game), adapting Gege Akutami's supernatural action manga will premiere in Winter 2026.

Ahead of the television anime's premiere, a feature-length cut of Shibuya Jihen-hen (Shibuya Incident arc) from the second season and the first and second episode of the third season will be screened in theaters on November 7. The livestream also revealed a key visual for the movie (pictured).

The first season aired in 24 episodes in Fall 2020, followed by the 23-episode second season Summer 2023. Crunchyroll simulcast both seasons worldwide, excluding Asia.

The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime movie adapting Gege's prequel manga opened in theaters in Japan in December 2021. The Jujutsu Kaisen: Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu (Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death) compilation movie premiered on May 30.

Gege drew the manga in Weekly Shounen Jump from March 2018 to September 2024. Shueisha published the 30th and final volume in December 2024. Jujutsu Kaisen has a cumulative 100 million copies of its compiled volumes in circulation.

VIZ Media simulpublished the manga digitally with the Japanese release through its Shounen Jump service and released the 27th volume on August 19. Shueisha's Manga Plus platform also simulpublished the manga in English beginning in January 2019.

Yes, that’s why anything post shibuya sucks big time. I wish whoever’s in charge of deciding which anime gets a sequel chooses better anime to continue animating.

a lot of other news sources calls it part 1 of culling games so this is definitely split cours this time maybe to reduce the complains of animators of having yet another tight production time or schedule
