Manga 'Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki' Gets TV Anime in Winter 2026

An official website opened for a television anime adaptation of Mika Yamamori's Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki (In the Clear Moonlit Dusk) manga and revealed the main cast, staff, and a teaser visual (pictured) on Thursday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in January 2026 on TBS' 28 stations.

Voice actors Rei Ichinomiya and Ryouta Suzuki (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen) are starring as Yoi Takiguchi and Kohaku Ichimura, respectively.

Yamamori began serializing the school romance manga in Dessert magazine in July 2020. Kodansha shipped the eighth volume in August 2024 and will release the ninth volume on May 13. Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in 2021 and shipped the seventh volume in July 2024.

Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki ranked fourth and 11th in the Female Readers' Top 20 of the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings in the 2022 and 2023 editions, respectively.

Synopsis
Every time Yoi Takiguchi so much as lets out a sigh, her female classmates squeal in admiration and awe. She has been dubbed the school's "prince" by virtue of her boyishly attractive appearance and casual disposition. However, she chooses to be indifferent toward the attention she receives and spends her days normally—that is, until the school's other prince, Kohaku Ichimura, waltzes into her life and calls her beautiful.

Kohaku is nothing like a prince—he acts thoughtlessly and does as he pleases. But when he compliments her, Yoi feels flustered, and the way he looks at her gets her all nervous. He is the first boy to acknowledge her as a girl, and her attempts to distance herself prove futile as he seems to have set his sights on her. While Yoi keeps telling herself that it is nothing serious, even she cannot completely ignore the stir Kohaku causes in her heart. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

They should have adapted Hirunaka no Ryuusei instead ugh... even if that one has a disastrous ending

Just read the manga reviews, and it's what I pretty much expected. Another shallow, trope cringe fest shoujo romance, the only shoujo manga that are seemingly getting adapted these days, because fans obviously just want ikemen instead of actual great characters and stories. And to think some people are befuddled as to why a lot of people shun or hate shoujo lol

Who cares about an epic like Basara or Kanata Kara, lets have generic #2351 adapted instead 🤡

I honestly equate modern shoujo romance for girls to pure ecchi series for guys at this point, both just a reason to get off/project themselves into the show or enjoy a popcorn series.

Because of the cover I thought it was an announcement of an adaptation of some BL WEBTOON and didn't immediately realize that it was about the shoujo manga that I've been wanting to read for a long time and whose adaptation I was waiting for. I'll have to add it to my ikemen onna stack.
