@animegamer245 Are you talking about how the Live Action staff admitted that this was one of the most basic prohibitions during the discussion of possible changes of the writing?

@RobertBobert it also varies density to density of the manga how many chapters can be adapted e.g, jojo part 1 to 6 is the manga that use large panels per page being not dense text heavy nor crammed with having quick paced dialogue and many of the chapters have very little to no dialogue with some having repetead panels across half the chapter when for example the cast defeats the enemy stands thus this also reflects on the anime pacing that they can adapt 4 to 5 chapters without any issues 99% of the content of the chapters animated and even fit in anime original/extended scenes.

For detective conan it is impossible becuase the manga use small panel format like one piece and like one piece being very dense text heavy and crammed that already adapting 1.5 chapters of detective conan is more than enough with the pacing being very fast very little to no anime original content in between and some scenes are even cut even with this amount of chapters.

@RobertBobert

for example look at this page from the middle of the chapter of act 2 manga, and that almost every chapter looks that in act 2 and 3, and as the series progressed further it became even more text heavier denser and crammed for the majority of the chapters that also reflects on the anime pacing as well as it adapts 1 chapter with 5 minutes shorter in duration and the pacing is perfect basically being panel by panel in terms of plot progresion with very few brief original scenes.

When this saga which this chapter of that image was remastered as a means to be allowed to go on official 6 month break by shueisha and fuji tv and started adapting 2 chapters in actual, the pacing was way too fast and a lot of cut down canon material.

@RobertBobert detective conan use filler which was used in what I like to call serialized era anime as an unoficial hiatus but also there is other side of anime like one piece that in most episodes implements at the begining of the episode recap that last 4 to 5 minutes long that make actual episode 4 to 5 minutes shorter in duration to not create filler due to risks associated with creating filler like was explained by gintama staff in "gintama explain filler" and most anime original episodes wich is very few is movie tie in or recap specials (that should not be counted as an episodes to begin with) and everything else is canon, and that format works for one piece considering how act 2 and 3 majority of the chapters are very dense text heavy and crammed with material also the manga use small panel format that takes these many individual chapters 12 minutes to sometimes 20 minutes to complete.

And detective conan actually is 600 episodes without filler and I remember those days of heavily binge watching this briliant series that is detective conan, now I am reading the manga to be up to date with the manga being currently at chapter 248.

Edit: caught up to the anime in 2023 2 years ago.

@jacobPOL I got into Detective Conan easily because it's a really well-written work. Although when I watched the first episode, the adaptation had already reached 1,000 episodes. But it's the most episodic, so I'm not sure if it will work with One Piece.

@RobertBobert only one arc was better in the manga because sadly production has collapsed in the anime on this arc but well sometimes it is the way it is when it comes to long running series, but everything else is great to perfect how the toei piece adaptation adapts the manga very creatively by taking full advantage of animation medium, even Oda sensei has praised heavily the adaptation back in second saga and is heavily collaborating with the anime team by putting some anime original content created by him or some anime canon episode in the manga canon arc because of sometimes not able to put this in the chapter due to health issues or page count limitation.

@RobertBobert For example let's take east blue which is the first saga (part like in novels/manga) is 53 episodes but since most episodes in that saga were using recap that was 3 minutes long that made actual episodes 3 to 4 minutes shorter in duration it is actually 43 episodes adapting 100 chapters of original east blue.

@RobertBobert Considering the aproach wit piece is taking with the source material which was personally requested by Oda sensei “I want you all to express rather than copy and paste the work. For example, it's creating your interpretation and expression instead of recreating a panel from the manga" and I am glad Oda sensei requested the staff to be not typical 1 to 1 adaptation, making that I am glad they are taking their time considering not only they will be doing very creative adaptation but also how very demanding it is to capture Oda sensei visual storytelling of the manga which requires always very specialized direction in order to make one piece works in animation (which is what toei piece always did almost perfectly) this will take to produce longer.

Also by the way toei piece is not this long as it seems because most episodes use recap that lasts 4 to 5 minutes long to make actual episode 4 to 5 minutes shorter in duration as an alternative formula to not create fillers to due the risks associated with them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4S9NuI6NKo . Thus having perfect pacing flow basically being panel by panel in terms of plot progression with very few brief anime original scenes that well every adaptation based on the source has.

@jacobPOL I think this is obviously a joke official art, but anyway. I wanted to get to know the franchise better with the remake, but it seems to be in limbo.

@RobertBobert actually overall I recommend watching this episode just for pure musical spectacle, the fact that they hired literally opera singer to sing soul pocus whom she is very famous in Japan, with the text written by the author of the series since also the musicals were in the original manga of the arc as well.

@RobertBobert actually Nami to the straw hats is like the big sister to the straw hats including luffy in sbs drawn by Oda sensei in chapter 460 of volume 48 that:

Jinbei is father
Nico robin is mother
Brook is grandfather
Choper is youngest son
Nami is daughter
Zoro is first son
Sanji is second son
luffy is forth son
And frankly humorously is pervy grandmother

@jacobPOL I know too little about the lore of this franchise, so this won't say anything to me. I was just trying to predict that an all-female spin-off would immediately be a magnet for all sorts of shippers. Although for some reason it always seemed to me that the additional materials promote Luffy x Nami.

Aug 14, 11:13 AM by RobertBobert

@RobertBobert Between the straw hats yes there is no romance between them, but there was one romance between sanji whom he is part of straw hat one of the MCs and non straw hat character pudding, if you want to watch with mild spoiler I recommend episode 877 since it is largely musical so I doubt you will be able to figure out what happened in the story of this arc.

and make them lewd

Remind me, is Oda still fundamentally against any romance between the main cast?

If it's anything like Fan Letter, we'll be treated to great stuff again. Nevertheless, new OP content is always great, looking forward to this!

One Piece fans have been eating lately

After Fan Letter I was expecting more novel adaptations. Now this wasn't the one I was hoping to see, but since this is like another collection of short stories it gives them more creative freedom unlike trying to adapt something like Novel A within a very limited amount of episodes.
