Takashi Shiina's Zettai Karen Children (Psychic Squad) manga ended its 16-year run in this year's 33rd issue of Weekly Shounen Sunday on Wednesday.

Synopsis
In a world where ESP is common, only three people have them at the highest possible level—Level 7. Those three are the special ESP team, The Children. The Children work for BABEL, a special ESPer organization committed to stopping crimes before they happen. Kouichi Minamoto is assigned to watch over them, and he'll need to, because three superpowered ten-year-olds are a problem on their own. (Source: Sentai Filmworks)

Shiina developed the manga from a short story he published in Shounen Sunday Super in 2003 and published a four-chapter story in Weekly Shounen Sunday the following year. The manga began regular serialization in the same magazine in August 2005. Shogakukan will ship the 62nd on Friday, with the 63rd and final volume scheduled for release on September 17.

SynergySP adapted the manga into a 51-episode television anime that aired from April 2008 to March 2009, followed by an original video animation in 2010. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime in 2012 in North America and released the series on DVDs with English subtitles the same year.

Manglobe produced the Zettai Karen Children: The Unlimited - Hyoubu Kyousuke (Unlimited Psychic Squad) original television anime spin-off in Winter 2013, which follows the primary antagonist of the main series. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series in North America in 2014 and released the series with English subtitles on home video in 2015.

A manga adaptation of the spin-off anime by Rokurou Ogaki ran in Shounen Sunday Super from March 2013 to July 2015.

but it has a "harem" tag on MangaUpdates,

Wait.... why the hell does it have a harem tag? This is not a harem. For half the show, Minamoto is a father figure and the girls are 10. For the second half of the manga, the only one romantically interested in Minamoto is Kaoru. Aoi is shipped with Tim and Shiho with Sakaki. There is no harem.

Is this a show with a few canon straight pairings?

I've wanted to either read or watch this, but it has a "harem" tag on MangaUpdates, and because of that, I will never watch or read it.

Loved the anime. Started the manga. Stopped reading the manga when Matsumoto went missing and they brought in his replacement, who I could not stand. Basically, a younger, more annoying version OF Matsumoto. I don't even remember what volume that was. Does anyone know when that little shit came into the manga?

You literally described my first experience with Index. Even though I love titles with a huge roster of characters, anime even now seems extremely childish to me.

The character designs in this title are so generic that it literally took me a while to figure out which of the potential 15-20 titles in question.
