New TV Anime of Zettai Karen Children is a Spin-off Featuring Hyobu Kyosuke

According to Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine, the new TV anime of Zettai Karen Children will be a "hard-boiled" original story featuring Hyobu Kyosuke. The title is "Zettai Karen Children: The Unlimited" and it will be aired in 2013. The production studio is Manglobe.

Seconded! Hyobu's character is too epic. Currently my favorite show.

I wouldn't say it's a great show, but it's entertaining, and my ranking for it for the season is mainly based on how appalling the rest of the lineup looks for Winter 2013.

Certainly. I was so excited about a new Zettai Karen Children, I was HOPING it would be a continuation, and/or the reveal as to how Kaoru became The Queen. And I was also hoping to write Koichi off the series entirely.
Maybe they put him in jail for being a lolicon or something. Yes, I didn't like the whole near future "romantic relationship", or something like it. bleh.

But now, hopes, dead.
So...Thanks, but No thanks.

AAAAAHHHHHHH. Goddam it, the ending was so inconclusive and I didn't want to read the manga to find out cuz I didnt like the artwork.

I find Hyoubu's chapters in the manga boring as hell. Know he is the villain, but as a character he was still annoying in not villanous related ways.
Still, have to check it out. Hopefully it won't be bad.

It airs in a morning timeslot (10AM), and kids don't care who Hirano Aya is.

As for otaku fans, if she were really so toxic (I'm really not convinced of this), why not just replace her? In any case, the series didn't sell much on DVD (2,243 average) to begin with so I don't think this is the main concern. They're trying to get ratings and sell manga.

If they make something female otaku like, there's probably a rather good chance of selling more DVDs/BDs than the original anime sold anyway.

I think its safe to say that this'll be a late night anime, though. Its Manglobe, and as far as I know, they only do late nighters... and Weekly Shonen Sunday has had both The World God Only Knows and Hayate be handled by Manglobe as late nighters recently. A side story about a non main character doesn't really sound like something they'd be able to get a daytime TV slot for. I mean, would they even be able to get anywhere near the 50 episodes you'd generally need for a daytime show?
