'Mars Red' Announces Main Cast

The official website of the Mars Red television anime announced the main cast on Wednesday. Each character belongs to a unit within the Japanese army called "Code Zero," a group of vampires tasked with tracking down other vampires causing a mysterious crisis. A first promotional video revealing the new cast and characters was also released. The series is scheduled to air in 2021.

Cast (pictured above from left to right, top to bottom):
Yoshinobu Maeda: Junichi Suwabe (ACCA: 13-ku Kantsatsu-ka)
Shutaro Kurusu: Tasuku Hatanaka (Koutetsujou no Kabaneri)
Takeuchi: Akira Ishida (Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu)
Suwa: Kenichi Suzumura (Owari no Seraph)

Ishida and Suzumura are reprising their roles as Takeuchi and Suwa, respectively, from the 2013 and 2015 stage productions of Mars Red.

Kouhei Hatano (Freezing Vibration assistant director) is directing the series at Signal.MD. Other previously announced staff includes series composer and script writer Junichi Fujisaku (Blood+) and character designer Yukari Takeuchi (Norn9: Norn+Nonet).

The military vampire series is based on Bunou Fujisawa's stage reading play of the same name. Funimation will co-produce the anime series. A manga adaptation by Kemuri Karakara, the anime's original character designer, began in Comic Garden on January 4.

No, just another "pretty boy" for "otome", which has next to no value as a piece art but somehow keeps being a viable business venture for the least talented people in the industry.

The cover looked nice, so I clicked this, but it seems the designs aren't that good. They aren't bad either. Well, this will be released a year later, which means they have time to make in betweens, and cleaner line art. I guess it's too early to judge. Plus, the guy with the middle part is hot (when compared to the other characters), so I might try this anime for him! lol.

Don't know who is Tasuku Hatanaka, but Junichi Suwabe, Akira Ishida, and Kenichi Suzumura are among my favorite male seiyu.

Could be interesting.
