The 12-episode anime series by Production IMS, based on Takaaki Suzuki's (Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam script) original concept, aired in Spring 2016. Aniplex of America licensed the anime, which was simultaneously streamed on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Daisuki. A two-part sequel OVA was shipped on a Blu-ray and DVD volume in May 2017.

Kanari Abe began serializing a manga adaptation in Comic Alive in 2015. Kadokawa shipped the fifth compiled volume on March 23. The High School Fleet: Loreley no Otome-tachi spin-off manga by Tsuchii (Girls & Panzer: Little Army) also ran in the same magazine for three volumes between June 2016 and August 2017. Kadokawa published a two-volume side story novel by Aku Himenogi and Kinoto Masuishi in 2016.

High School Fleet ranked among the top ten best television anime in the 2016 Newtype Anime Awards.

Excellent news. Loved the anime and was quite worried about the movie when the original studio went bankrupt.
