An official website for the upcoming new Baki anime series has launched and revealed the main cast and staff members for the anime. The protagonist, Baki Hanma, will be voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki (Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu).

Staff
Director: Toshiki Hirano (Kyuuketsuhime Miyu)
Series Composition: Tatsuhiko Urahata (Black Bullet)
Character Design: Fujio Suzuki (Warau Salesman New)

Produced by TMS Entertainment, the anime will adapt the Saikyou Shikeishuu (Most Evil Death Row Prisoners) arc, the first of the three arcs from Keisuke Itagaki's Baki: New Grappler Baki manga. A 15-minute OVA adapted part of the same arc, which was bundled with the 14th limited edition volume of Itagaki's Baki-dou manga in December 2016.

Netflix will stream the 26-episode anime series in Japan this summer and plans to stream it outside of Japan in Fall 2018. The series will also broadcast on TV. There will be AnimeJapan 2018 stage for the anime. Keisuke Itagaki (mangaka) and Nobunaga Shimazaki (Baki Hanma) will appear for a talk show.

This looks like a fresh deadman wonderland. I hope it doesn't shy away with censorship like monochrome blood or instant coagulated blood upon getting knocked out.

Netflix screwed up Blame fuckin hard, but Devilman crybaby was good(especially showing how to run faster than Naruto style). I think this will be good too

I don't like how Netflix credits its name as though its the producer. Either way, if they do a decent job, it will bring us closer to periodic anime releases on a major platform accessible by most; and netflix is the biggest one around.

Yo I know that Netflix doesn't produce anime, it's just easier to say for me that anime with Netflix involved somehow are more violent

Lol ikr. That "A Netflix Original Series" shit at the beginning of every episode of Violet Evergarden seems misleading as fuck.

The main staff are honestly great except I think the character design could have being looked more interesting. But hyped for another boxing anime!!

The original anime had a pretty lazy/simple story. I still enjoyed it and will probably watch this.

what the hell. this manga only has 1 arc and it gets reused again this time as a 2 cour.

wtf

What the hell are you talking about? Baki is a 1000+ chapter series, it has many arcs. The previous Grappler Baki and Grappler Baki: Saidai Tournament-hen anime adapted Baki's childhood arc, the underground arena arc, and the maximum tournament arc from the first Baki manga. This new anime is going to adapt the death row convicts arc, the first arc of the second Baki series. This is going to be the first time this arc gets animated.
they all sound the same dude

the designs of the 2016 ova looked much better than this; it's feels like a downgrade in the quality

This anime will go on Japanese TV, it does not like Devilman Crybaby, Netflix is only part of the production committee, just as Amazon is part of Inuyashiki, so calling this Netflix anime anime is wrong.

Anyway, in April has Souten no ken, in July Baki and still this year Kenga Ashura, seems too testosterone for the Japanese.
