But the hideous secret that drove Ash's older brother mad in Vietnam has suddenly fallen into Papa's insatiably ambitious hands—and it's exactly the wrong time for Eiji Okamura, a pure-hearted young photographer from Japan, to make Ash Lynx's acquaintance... This was one of the last manga I expected to ever get an anime adaptation, but serious AOTY potential if they don't try and cram the whole story into 12-13 episodes.

I'm worried about the director. This couldn't be more opposite of Kyoto Anime's usual stuff if it tried.

I loved the manga and what MAPPA is doing right now. It's refreshing to see a studio willing to try different things.

I don't get why people post comments just to give dumb reasons as to why they're not interested. ._.

Never heard of this series before, but it's an older manga and definitely sounds interesting, so I'll check it out. I'm wondering how many episodes though 'cause the manga seems to have some length to it.

Uhh, isn't the director work specifically for KyoAni production anime? Did she change studio or what?
She only directed Free. Afterwards leaving and becoming a freelancer. Her ties with kyoani is no more.

Would be interesting to see if she brings some visual traits from kyoani into her work at MAPPA

Looks really boring. Adapt stuff like Grand Blue or Kaguya instead of this old sausage-fest crap!

I hate to break it to you but Grand Blue will most likely never get an adaptation due to the excessive and under-age drinking. So stop trashing newly announced anime, because it isn’t the adaptation you wanted.

Also Banana Fish was literally one of the mostbreaking and influential mangas at the time within it’s genre.

One has 19 volumes and one just has 38 chapters. Does Grand Blue really fit in with noitaminA anyway? I know they had a few odd titles but still.
