Web Manga 'Mob Psycho 100' Gets Live-Action TV Drama

Mangaka ONE's Mob Psycho 100 web manga has been announced to receive live-action TV drama to broadcast in January 2018 on TV Tokyo's "MokuDora 25" (Thursday Drama 25) timeslot, which is in collaboration with Netflix. It has been announced that Tatsuomi Hamada (Ultraman Geed) will be acting as Shigeo Kageyama and Kouichi Sakamoto (multiple Sentai series director) will direct the TV drama.

Mob Psycho 100 began its serialization via Ura Sunday manga app. in April 2012. It currently has 14 compiled volumes in print, with 15th volume to be released on October 19. The series won the 62nd Shougakukan Manga Award in the shounen category. Studio Bones animated the web manga into a 12-episode TV anime, which aired in Summer 2016.

Good for the popularity of mp100 but I feel like a live action adaptation won't work for this kind of flashy source material.

Granted if this boosts popularity or whatever the fuck to get a S2 then I don't care.

To be completely honest, I look forward to anything Mob Psycho 100 related that comes out. I do eagerly await a season 2 since the web comic gets into some serious drama, but for now a short live action series will do.

Oh man, the portrayal of Mob is gonna be awful. If Netflix had full rights to it, it'd just be whitewashed trash but since Japan is handling it, I wouldn't be surprise to see them turn Mob into some super bishounen try-hard emo kid.

Mob could be good.There are some great live action tv dramas based on manga some passable a lot not so good..
The tv dramas work better than movie adaptations.
Some of my favourites.
Jin time traveling doctor.
boys over flowers
Bloody monday
Floating classroom
GTO great teacher onizuka.
Arikawa under the bridge good
Samurai Sensei
Drifting net café was better than the manga

Attack on Titan was awful.
Gantz was passable
relife was soso
Live adaptions are hit and miss.
But if its a choice of being made or not made Id like to see it made even if its bad.

Koreans have made a number of manwhas.
They only make live action adaptaions.
Full house
Cheese in the trap
I haven't seen any animated versions.

As for Chinese and wuxia adaptations. I only know of a few animated series.
Someone of more knowledge would have to tell me.

Movie adaptations suck. They could work if they try.
At least ghost in the shell tried,
Tv adaptations tend to work.
Not fantastic not terrible.

So mob psycho ill hold my verdict till its released

I can just imagine the thought process behind this. Hey guys, we all love Mob Psycho. It has unique animation and really stands out. How do we make it less unique? Oh I know, we should make it a live action where it would never work. Sounds like a plan to me.
