Short Anime of 'Youkai Ningen Bem' Announced

An official website for Youkai Ningen Bem has opened to celebrate the series' 50th anniversary. The first anniversary project will be the production of short anime titled Oretacha Youkai Ningen.

Youkai Ningen Bem is a 26-episode anime produced by Daichi Doga, which aired in Fall 1968. A second anime adaptation by Studio Comet aired for 26 episodes in Winter 2006 under the title Youkai Ningen Bem: Humanoid Monster Bem. Both series will be rebroadcasted in Fall 2017. The series also received a live-action drama in October 2011, followed by a movie in December 2012.

I wonder if this might make the older series easier to find, I tried recently and it's very hard to find any copies of them or any translations. Looking forward to the new short since it means at least that will probably be translated!

There seems to be a trend of remaking old animes. I'm all for this though, since I love short animes and all things Sugita. Plus I've enjoyed the recent remakes that have come out.

I guess if something this old can be brought back for a new series, there's always hope for that subsequent season of anything.

1968? Yikes, this is older than most series that have been redone save for anime like Astro Boy and Osomatsu-kun which are a bit older.
