TV Anime 'Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu' Additional Cast Members Announced

The first episode pre-screening event for the upcoming Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu TV anime has announced additional cast members, as well as eight character designers on Monday. The anime is slated for Summer 2017 on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and MBS.

Cast
Saniwa (Person who judges which God or spirit has taken possession of a Miko): Junko Minagawa (Pandora Hearts)
Konnosuke: Takuma Nagatsuka (Neko to Mata)

In charge of Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki: Moe Tsuzuku

So thankful that they went with a boy, instead of a dumb/naive/girly otome heroine. Even though I would have preferred a mature guy.
I can already imagine him with a voice like Oz from Pandora Hearts. XD I think this is also the best option when they consider a character who is more gender-neutral/androgynous for both the male and female fans of Touken Ranbu to relate to.

The character designers are female in-house animators, so it costs nothing more for ufotable.

I thought Hanamaru was good for what it was doing. Not anything spectacular but I think it was good for those that likes the games already. Basically that series is for those that already got into with the characters and wants to see them animated.

This will focus on a more serious tone and with an actual story from what I can gather (which the game doesn't have a story to begin with from what I recall, note I played the Japanese version so I might be wrong on this regard), so Ufo can be able to just do what they can with it and maybe expand it.

Yeah, i actually liked Hanamaru but that's because i was already very attached to the characters since i played the game beforehand, i do have high hopes for Katsugeki but at the same time i'm afraid of anyone diying(swords breaking)! :(
