You really didn't look all that much at that list, did you?

Orange only has one season, so does Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. Heck, even NGE.

Sorry, I overlooked them.
My point is that for mainstream source material with enough length, they almost always get multi seasons or long running anime adaptation.

Among 25 series only 1 series (Gekkan shoujo nozakikun) has not gotten second season or long-running adaptation yet.

I excluded Orange,Sakamoto desuga,EVA here because Orange and Sakamoto desuga adapted whole manga series so it is impossible to get a sequel and EVA is original anime so manga is not a source material in the first place.

This also apply LN series too.
LN series that got 400k circulation copies per volume almost always get multi season.Slayers, Haruhi,SAO,Fullmetal panic,Oreimo,Durararara,LOGH,Toaru series all get multi season or long running anime adaptation.

Thats because NHK is backing up the anime
Most anime adaptations from NHK easily gets new seasons (See Kyoukai no Rinne, Bakuman, Kingdom, Major and more. https://myanimelist.net/anime/producer/111/NHK )
With their track record, wouldnt be surprised we get a complete adaptation. (which is amazing personally !)

Bakuman,Major,3gatsu no lion are mainstream titles and those mainstream titles almost always get "multi seasons" or "long-running series regardless NHK or not.NHK just tend to stick with mainstream titles.

You cannot find any one season(12-24) anime except sakamoto desuga above 500k selling Manga or LN list.

BTW, a quick question. Do I need to have prior knowledge about Shogi for watching this anime or do they explain all the stuffs?

Maybe a litte <(")

I haven't watched the anime, but I read the manga, so far so good

Mar 20, 2017 7:00 AM by DenzRui

Glad to see a continuation on this. Shaft did a pretty great job at adapting this.

thank you based shaft

I'm still watching it as of now since I've been trying to binge it to just wait for S2, but so far it's pretty satisfying in a lot of things.

Good news regardless.

It's great to read that bakuman was on NHK because ... a second season of 3-gatsu won't be enough. I already started to pray for shaft to do the third season. If what you say is true and that NHK are the ones who decide then like bakuman we might get the third season ... which should be OBLIGATORY knowing what happens beyond the 100th chapters of this amazing manga.

Soooo now, ... third season please!

Great news! Shaft didn't disappoint! ^^

I liked its first season and I really hope that Shaft goes for another 2 cour, since they have more than enough material to adapt.

I've heard really good things on the first season. Pretty exciting it's already got another season, now only to watch the first season before it airs :o

Mar 19, 2017 10:28 AM by SecretDinosaur

This is great news! Really surprising, actually--I heard the show wasn't selling very well over in Japan, so I thought there was no chance of a second season. Being stuck with the read-the-manga ending of the first season would have been hard to take. All in all, I'm looking forward to this one so much!

OH thank god, I'm so happy =")
I love this anime so much, it really touches the heart
