A new anime project for Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor, subtitled The Beyond, was announced at the franchise's Soushi Minashiro Seitan-sai event on Thursday. King Records launched an official website, revealing a key visual (pictured). The company will unveil a promotional video on January 6, 2017.

Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor is an original mecha franchise by animation studio Xebec that began in 2004. The anime series has since received a prequel television special in 2005, an anime film in 2010, and a second season that aired in split cours in Winter and Fall in 2015.

Funimation licensed the television anime and the film in 2011 and released them on home video in 2012. Crunchyroll streamed the second season with subtitles as it aired in Japan.

The franchise also inspired a light novel by Tow Ubukata (Mardock Scramble, Le Chevalier d'Eon), two manga adaptations, a video game in 2005, and numerous music and drama CDs.

How did i not notice this, fafner exodus was probably the best TV mecha of the decade, not that theres much competition but still it was fucking great. Looks like soushi 2.0 is the protagonist from here on out which im pretty excited about.

This made my day, im surprised i didnt realize this news until now since i was shilling exodus pretty hard despite how problematic its previous entries were.

Exodus was nothing short of amazing even though the first season was really bland. Hope this continues the story left in Exodus.

We're going to get more? Well... not like I'm being a fan of it but I guess good for them in a sense. I don't really like this series much so.
