'Magical Suite Prism Nana' to Get OVA [Update 8/18]

A post made on the official Facebook page indicated that Magical Suite Prism Nana will be an OVA. While the exact premiere date is currently unknown, the OVA is expected to be released this year. More information will be announced at Comiket, to be held August 14–16.

Studio Shaft will be animating the OVA, with Kantoku (Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko.) in charge of the original character designs. The anime is about a trio of girls that includes Kotone Oribe, Itaru Washioka, and Asuka Asagi. Taking place in Nanagoo City, the story will present their growth to adulthood with unique possibilities.

The Magical Suite Prism Nana project was initially announced in August 2012, with a series of character designs. Seven PVs were subsequently uploaded to the series' YouTube account; the third is included below.

It was announced that the OVA will consist of seven episodes, where each episode is directed by a different director. The announcement did not state who will be working on the episodes. It was also announced that Chika Anzai (Hitsugi no Chaika) will be cast as Mako Hiiragi, and Daisy × Daisy (Fairy Tail) will perform the music.

Been hearing about this series since 2012.

Waiting to see if it'll be as ambitious as Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica.

As long as their is a consistency for the story, why not.

OVAs are fine. But it usually ends up limiting the scope of what can be done. Unless it was planned as an OVA from the beginning, which usually isn't the case.

i dont think they planned it to be anything but an ad for an ova

i think an OVA gives it FAR more freedom than a tv series

OVAs are fine. But it usually ends up limiting the scope of what can be done. Unless it was planned as an OVA from the beginning, which usually isn't the case.

FINALLY! For a while now i thought this was never going to come out.

Now i wonder if we're going to get any news regarding that "Girl's Work" anime by Ufotable.

How long has it been since it was announced. Too long. Sad how most adaptations getting news of it being animated never even happen. Or even take so long to arrive honestly.

Wanted a tv series. So I must pass, unfortunately. Maybe in the later future or so.

Damn I'm really excited for this. Watched every pilot PV and the long PV, been watching this for a while and saw on facebook they said it would be OVA but was just waiting for a date. Hopefully will air in Fall and that it will be an OVA series and not just 1 OVA. The art, animation, character designs, VAs voices and music were great in them. Loved the music in the PVs, hope it's like that in the OVA.
