Current status after 44 days: ¥2,069,536,480 from 1,441,784 attendees

Comparison after the 7th weekend
LL: ¥2,069,536,480
Madoka: ¥1,848,000,281
K-ON!: ¥1,512,000,000

Comparison to final totals
LL: ¥2,***,***,***
Madoka: ¥2,080,000,000
K-ON!: ¥1,900,000,000

LL Movie will definitely surpass Madoka Movie 3 by this coming weekend to become the highest grossing late-night/midnight franchise anime film. Maybe it will end up around 2.25~2.35 billion yen in the end? Although I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up higher than that.

Current Top 10... with the Love Live Movie still in progress.

Jitsu wa Watashi wa
Kuusen Madoushi
Aoharu x Kikanjuu
Junou Romantica s2
Ranp Kitan - Game of Laplace

I am really disappointed.
How Okusama will (probably) sell more than junjou romantica, shimoneta, jitsu, rokka, ecc... Fucking perverted japanese.
No wonder why prison school/To love ru/Monster musume will sell a lot.

There are better anime this season that deserve more.

Well, Psycho Pass doing great is expected. And yeah, they're underestimating the number of women among their fanbase (who are not necessary fujoshi, as there are a lot of Kougami/Tsunemori shippers, but there are also hordes of BL fans among the fanbase)

Among the highest grossing late-night anime films, the verified male to female ratio of the people who watched the movie was:

K-ON!... 8:2
Madoka... 7:3
AnoHana... 6:4

The BD to DVD (77.24:22.76) ratio for the movie looks very similar to the AnoHana movie (79.16:20.84) , so i'd would guess that the male to female ratio for the PSYCHO-PASS movie is around 6:4 as well. Although females have been steadily upgrading to BD players over time, so the male to female ratio has to be between 5:5 and 6:4, rather than 6:4 and 7:3. However, BD:DVD ratio isn't always the best way to discern the male to female ratio, as the K-ON! Movie had a BD:DVD ratio of 70.83:29.17.

Do you have a source? I'm no expert in this kind of matter so that would be interesting to know.

Translation from Japanese article
''At Psycho-pass disclosure event, the Motohiro general director looking around theater and point out '' there are a lot of women''
''I did not expected this.I intended to make tough SF anime that watched by men,but consequently most (of people here) are women. We were making it with saying'' no-moe'' .It is a shameLOL''

Also there are many BL doujin about psycho-pass.To be fair judging from DVD-BD sales ratio, sales seems typical male-oriented anime. Also, people who watch the actual movie are saying male-female is 5-5 to 6-4
It is no black and white as you said.It has a lot of fujoshi fans but also theme(SF) itself is that of mainly popular among male audience.

So I guess there isn't really a source? Shame would be interesting to have.

Kekkai Sensen and Psycho Pass movie are doing great. Can't wait to watch the movie.

Hibike is really having a great run despite people expecting it to flop and it not being a show that explicitly panders to otaku. I'm sure KyoAni will give it some kind of sequel.

Update for the Love Live Movie.

After the 6th weekend (37 days), it has now grossed ¥1,854,675,940, with ¥163,887,080 over the 6th Saturday & Sunday (July 18~19), and ¥35,790,900 from the Week 6 weekdays (July 13~17).

Source: http://worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2053312#p2053312

Current status after 37 days: ¥1,854,675,940 from ~1,250,000 tickets

Comparison after the 6th weekend (37 days)
LL: ¥1,854,675,940
Madoka: ¥1,781,051,800
K-ON!: ¥1,438,000,000

Comparison after the 7th weekend (44 days)
LL: ???
Madoka: ¥1,848,000,281
K-ON!: ¥1,512,000,000

The LL Movie will probably hit 2 billion yen by the 7th weekend, as it did very strongly (around 55~60M yen) during the Umi no Hi Monday National Holiday, while Tuesday data was ~25M yen. It should be very close to 1.95 billion yen by now, so to make up that last ~50M yen from Wednesday to Sunday is very doable.

The following question has to be asked again. How much higher than 2 billion yen will the LL Movie end up? For those interested, Madoka is the only late-night anime to reach the 2 billion yen milestone, and it did it in around 67 days (¥2,002,879,400 at that point in time) after release. LL will achieve that either 43 or 44 days after release.

Dat Kekkai Sensen finale though :|. Seems like they really revamped the end thanks to the impressive/unexpected BD sales. Wonder what they changed though.

Good thing that sales have never been important to NHK-E anime then.

That kind of doesn't change anything about my statement. But thanks.

Its also means its not flopping(since nobody here has an any insider info on HHK-E, I don't even think NHK-E is for-profit.
