DVD Only Episode of Umi Monogatari

According to the official website, the volume 6 of "Umi Monogatari ~Anata ga Itekureta Koto~" DVD includes an extra episode. It will be released on March 26th, 2010.

Short extra episodes "Marin no Kore Naani?" will also be released from the volume 2 to be released on November 22nd.

I wonder if all of these DVD-only episodes for various shows are really boosting sales? It's not like they don't get put online with the TV episodes.
