The DVD/Blu-ray Disc of "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" volume 1 was announced to be released on August 26th. Along with episode 1 and 2, an extra episode "Moumoku no Renkinjutsushi (Blind Alchemist)" will be included in the volume.

The extra episode is based on a side story of "Fullmetal Alchemist" manga published in "Fullmetal Alchemist Perfect Guidebook" (2003). It's about a blind alchemist Judau, who serves the Humbergang family.

I'd like to know first how many episodes this series will be. But, oh well, freebies are always welcome.

I feel really sorry for Japanese buyers paying the prices they do for discs that only have two episodes + an extra on them. This series is probably going to be > 50 eps, so talking at least 25 discs at what, like $50-70 each? and most discs wouldn't have the extras I imagine.

For short series the absurd prices seem slightly more tolerable but for something that is four cours or more... ugh.

FMA2 DVD/BD is slightly cheaper than normal anime DVDs.
Blu-ray vol.1 4,935 yen
DVD vol.1 3,990 yen

but yeah purchasing the DVD of a long seires requires a lot of money and patience. We call it a "DVD marathon".

so, it becomes tradition to add some extras on DVD or even release some episodes only on DVD. but in this case it's righteous, cause who will buy a DVD/BD for such a price without some special stuff? o_0

Only 2 episodes? That seems expensive.
Anyway, I'm glad to have an extra episode.

I tried to do subs for it :P only script, though. And my English isn't perfect at all. Well, it's pretty poor to be honest. I'm more confident with Polish subs :P

good enough for me to work with.

This is mostly based on a certain chapter as well as some extras I've read. After I track those down for reference I should be able to edit the quality of the subs up a lot.

The video quality is a bit poor though and a audio is worse, I'll have to ask the encoder in my group to look at them.

I should be able to make some quality subs out of what you've already made give I have time to work on it (which I do).

Edit: I finished the edits to your script. I know MAL hates DDL links being posted in their forums so

http://www.hiyono.net/blog/?page_id=1932&vasthtmlaction=viewtopic&t=72.0

third post down has the link to the edited script. There are still a few lines I'm iffy on, but I've fixed most of what was wrong.

Your timing was pretty good.

When I better raw comes out my group will probably make this a side release after the script has been polished a bit more.

Edit2: I didn't remember to do a spell check so meh.
