According to a scan from the latest issue of good! Afternoon magazine, horror manga Ajin will be receiving an animated movie trilogy adaptation.

The series is written by Gamon Sakurai and Tsuina Miura (volume 1 only). It began serialization in Kodansha's good! Afternoon magazine in March 2012. It is currently being published with six volumes released.

Ajin also placed in the final rankings of the 2014 Manga Taisho Award, earning a total of 32 points and receiving 8th place.

Synopsis
"Ajin" are humans that lack the ability to die. First discovered during a conflict in Africa, more and more are turning up in human society. Because they are rare, the government will generously reward anybody who turns in an "ajin" so that they can be used for experimental purposes. In the present day, the series revolves around a high school student who expects to have an ordinary summer break; however, his life is about to change...

It looks great! Despite all of you complaining about the cg, sidonia no kishi looked amazing and i'm sure this will too.

CGI made sense in Sidonia because there's a lot of mecha action that would be too labor intensive using traditional techniques. I honestly don't see what they would accomplish doing Ajin in full CGI, which doesn't look as expressive as the original manga's art.

Art aside though, it should still be worth watching, depending on how their cinematography and soundtrack play out.

All those complaining about the CG obviously have not seen Sidonia which was done by Polygon, that show looked incredible and it was the first thing they have done. This will look good too.

I have an intuition that these movies will be a huge disappointment for the manga readers, but hope not.

Was really looking forward to this until I found out Polygon Pictures was in charge and it was going to be full 3DCG. Just killed my hype completely, not even going to bother watching it anymore. Rather have censored hand-drawn blood in a TV series that'll be uncensored in the BDs than uncensored CG blood in a movie trilogy. Should of gone to Madhouse. Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to make a dark gorey series full CGI? You can't see the emotions or fear in the characters when they're CG because they're so smooth and stiff, the movement in the PV looked awkward and unnatural. Re-adaptation when?

;_; So much this. It wont stop me from watching it but i would much prefer it to be hand drawn animation and not CGI ._. OH well :/

Not too sure how I feel about this adaptation after watching the trailer. I'll just see what people think as the movies are released and whether or not I'll watch it because the CGI in the trailer looks terrible and awkward.

I recently read the manga and it was GREAT. I was hoping for an anime adaption because then we can watch it once every week as its on TV, plus I don't have to wait a fucking year or two to actually watch it on dvd or something. The pv looked promising, but I'm slightly hesitant because of the CGI.

Not really a "horror" manga but I still wonder how they are going to do it since only 29 chapters or 30 idk are out And NO it's not another "i have this secret power now to keep going to school" type

I'm looking foward to this though.

The art on the mango is amazing bummed it's cgi but whateves I enjoy Sidonia so might enjoy this.

Hm I read the manga when it was first released, after a few months following it, didnt really have a good impression about it. And idk, wouldnt really call it horror though.

But in the end i'll still check this out, it might turn out good.

How to destroy manga potential easily in just 1 step?

1. Make it CG.
2. ???
3. Profit.

Honestly, the manga is very good. Didn't deserve this.

Definitely going to read manga now, noticed it quite a while ago, however, somehow had "no time" to get myself to it... Hopefully movies will be good!
