The previous volume was number 1 for 4 or 5 weeks. its also was the most sold manga volume in book scans monthly, closest manga volume to it wad attack on titan vol.1

Nah, the manga has always been a high ranker, long before there was even news of an anime. Heck, I do believe it even topped the charts a few times.
