'Hitsugi no Chaika' to Include Unaired OVA

According to a scan, Hitsugi no Chaika volume 12 will include an unaired anime-original OVA, to be released on March 10, 2015.

According to another scan, the light novel will end at the same time as the anime's second season, as the anime will be happening somewhat "parallel" to the light novel.

Now this is what's confusing me atm. Does this mean the 2nd season will be a 2-cour? I heard someone said that they've been adapting 2 episodes for each volume, which means we may get up to 6 volumes in the 1st season. This would leave 6 more volumes for the 2nd season, which is usually the standard adaptation for a 2-cour season. If they really make it a 2-cour season, it would explain the average animation we've been getting.

NO ... Please NO! This series has done really well in just reveling the world without info-dumps. There is nothing more tedious than having someone spoon feeding you.

So far you can get from what's been mentioned that we're in a post-war state where the minor powers are jostling around trying to gain the upper hand .. ie Balkanization like the end of the 1st world war or Yugoslavia after Tito's death. There's problems with too many ex military not doing anything (a very real fear), probably (though not specified) an excess of weapons, plus repressed groups (like the farmers) demanding more rights. You DON'T need an info dump episode!

I wish the OP made it a little more obvious that it's the LN volume, not the BD volume.

Also, i'm betting it will be a beach/hot springs/fan service episode.

Oh same situation in Gosick and Zetsuen no Tempest that will have a solid ending. Good to hear that, that's why I love Bones! :D

This is fantastic news! An extra episode of Chaika, and the fact that it will actually have a conclusion, that won't be original. I'm really happy! This has been a good week for Chaika fans! Now if only it would get licensed, and dubbed...

Uh, I think by that, they meant the 12th BD volume, not the LN volume. Makes sense since a 1-cour series usually pack 2 eps per volume, since this is a split cour, there would be 6 vol for each cour, making up 12 volumes in total.

That is not the case. At 1 volume per month, the last volume will come out near the end of May of 2014.

It does refer to the 12th LN volume.

Thread title is ambiguous though, might help if it specified what will be including the OVA.
