After that finale I am not surprised! I just hope they printed enough! My order is already in stock thankfully... if CDJapan would just ship it!!! Guess they have to wait for pre day.

Edit: 13th place!!!

Wait, there ain't no chart today? :(

Not a whole lot going on really: http://www3.atchs.jp/test/read.cgi/urisure/1358138212/348

Guessing that there ain't no char today either? It's reasonable I guess, since it's almost Christmas and everyone's busy on that occasion :p.

Just check the same thread, it updated every day.

http://www3.atchs.jp/test/read.cgi/urisure/1358138212/ Scroll to the bottom.

Yozakura doing terribly. As expected but still painful to see (and it'll be the best selling volume by a mile too!).

Monster U on top! Guess it's natural, since the holidays are almost here.

SnK and Gintama been alternating for a few days now! Not that I care much, since both of them are my favourite shows and they are both doing well!

It seems Meganebu! vol.1 doesn't rank, I wonder if it's going to be underestimated though.

Buying it at Animega gives invitation to an event which is going to be held later today and I think Animega doesn't report its sales to Oricon.

If you weren't so new, it wouldn't. This certain person has haunted ALL sales threads for several past months despite having absolutely no logical or in any way coherent basis to post his biased opinions.

KnK is outside the top 200 again(and has been since yesterday), it seems like a certain somebody was wrong again.

Are the DVD thresholds on Christmas really that bad?

What was the threshold last year? If its below 1k, I think NNB has a small chance of ranking.

Depends exactly how the days fall but last year for Dec 24-30 it was 998. This year the period is Dec 23-29. I'd have to check what came out that week on DVD last year but this year has so much stuff.

I don't really have much of an opinion about NNB BUT I would like to see something defy the "buyers choose early theory" not necessarily because I think you're wrong, but because it gives me hope that just because some series don't start of selling fast they may yet have hope...

Non Non Biyori has been ranking well for almost two months now, increasingly so every week. So I'd say it was showing signs of success early on. "Buyers choose early" isn't so much "buyers buy early" as "buyers decide what's in the running for them early".

I'd been lamenting the sub-par performance of v2+ lately, because we still barely if ever see them hitting the top 100, but I just compared Non Non v2 to Kinmosa v2 after equivalent points in time and Non Non v2 has like 1200 more points than Kinmosa v2 did at that point (2.8k vs 1.6k).

Sooo... maybe it won't be so bad? Kinmosa v2 held up okayish, 20% drop on BD from an event ticket and gorgeous artbox (that was ingenuously marketed with the reverse-side reveal right after the amazing finale) and I'm hoping Non Non can keep at least that much.

Just gotta get those Non Non v1 DVD sales... but like Kinmosa, I fear we'll be cheated out of ~700+ DVDs due to high thresholds.

It suggests that some people still buy discs later, which is what I want to see so that I can still hold out hope for shows beyond the first few episodes (i.e. people who may buy are still watching).

Definitely, I'd say a good chunk of purchases come late, that's why we always talk about release week bumps (can be more like two weeks sometimes). Even flops can see a big boost in ranking in the last two weeks (heck even NagiAsu got as high as #158 at release). The end used to add a lot more points than it does now when Stalker also counted points up to 7 days after release date (they don't do that anymore, which is good because it limits overestimation).

Okay, details details, but that's STILL A VICTORY lol. It suggests that some people still buy discs later, which is what I want to see so that I can still hold out hope for shows beyond the first few episodes (i.e. people who may buy are still watching).

I'm surprised Kill la Kill didn't get much of a bump (yet?) from episode 12 as it was really, really well done and shows how awesome it can really be. Perhaps later today.

Ugly day for NagiAsu. Barely charting on pre-release day.

Yeah, it's essentially funded by Japanese taxpayers.
