The second season fell flat so I'm not too enthusiastic when I hear it's being handled by asread. If the new director can work with the staff to produce something better I'd be happy but I'm not holding my breath.

I didn't even bother to pick up the second season after the negative reviews came pouring in, and I'll have to see tons of positive reviews before I'll give this OAD or Okaeri a chance. Not that I'm expecting them or anything.

Alright I am in. I want to know what happens next in the life of those sisters. BTW They never told us what happened to the family nor what they do exactly.

Really its the director and other production staff who make or break a show, they gave Okawari to a guy who has only done crappy ero-novel adaptation(read Shuffle) and it showed when he tried to force the stupid sister drama and the Fuyuki abomination upon us.

Now that Okaeri has had a change of director, we may just see a slight improvement. Hopefully they've taken the hint that Okawari was really bad.
Well said, the fact a lot of series get de-railed or destroyed even though the same studio handles it is proof enough. Instead of looking at the studio, we need to look at the staff itself to predict how it may turn out (in a way, it's a little like with fansubs and how "good fansub groups" can actually suck big time when they replace key members).

I got through one episode of Okawari before I dropped it. I'm not sure if I should look forward to this, but we'll see how the third season goes :|

But still I love Minami-ke and can't wait until the 3rd season kicks off and this OVA is great as well, although it's still quite a while away yet...

Hope it will have plenty of Hosaka.

I don't really think the studio is fully to blame, I mean look at this season's Ga-Rei Zero, its a wonderful production with some good quality animation and music. And its by the same asread.

Really its the director and other production staff who make or break a show, they gave Okawari to a guy who has only done crappy ero-novel adaptation(read Shuffle) and it showed when he tried to force the stupid sister drama and the Fuyuki abomination upon us.
