sweet now i can start it, heard great things about this series i was just waiting for a set date to start it, watching an on going anime is bad enough, reading a on going manga is painful
Ditto, started it years ago and only dropped it because it seemed like it was never going to end. I'm going to enjoy reading it through again...

Also, why the hell was Sword Art Online brought into this discussion? This is like saying "You haven't heard of Blade of the Immortal!? Justin Bieber fans are cancer!". And then you're surprised people call you a "hater"? No, it's not just a different opinion, it's flame-bait at its best! "Kids these days", my ass.

I for one has this to say-- about darn time! I guess it's not really unbeknownst to us how the story is just about moving to its eventual conclusion. At any rate, I'm looking forward to how Rin will complete her quest for revenge-- hopefully with (Anotsu's) blood flowing through her hands, though I could easily see it just as likely being Manji's. Well, I'm probably the only one who wants to see Manji finally kick the bucket.

Already knew about it ending soon - it's been on its final arc since around v22 or so - but it's good to have a number and date. Well into the final battle zone already, in v29. Can't be much more than three more volumes in need of scans/translations left. The e-people are a little behind, so hopefully this news motivates them to catch up with what's available.
Bee Train's adaptation was actually quite good, but they screwed up the first few eps and ended without any sort of conclusion, so that put people off. There'd HAVE TO BE a remake, if only to draw in new fans--wasn't popular and too many years have passed for a sequel. But, really, BotI just isn't TVable with its length and gore. You've got a main character that has his limbs cut off in every fight, plus occasional sadistic raping, sooo...
PS: It started four years after Berserk and is ending when Berserk is drifting aimlessly. FUCK YOU, 'ZERK!

I think I'm at 150+ chapters and I thought it might take another 100 chapters or so to give it an appropriate epic ending it deserves.
