The cast of Death Note was released at Anime Evolution in Burnaby, Canada. (North of Vancouver where Ocean Studios is located)

Light Yagami: Brad Swaile (Gundam Seed, Dragon Ball Z, Ranma 1/2)
L: Alessandro Juliani (Zoids, Ranma 1/2)
Souichirou Yagami: Chris Brichon
Ryuuk: Brian Drummond (Gundam Seed, Escaflowne, Dragon Ball Z)
Raye Penbar: Michael Adamthwaite (Gundam Seed, Trouble Chocolate)
Aizawa: Trevor Devall(Gundam Seed,Shakugan no Shana, Transformers: Cybertron)
Misa Amane: Shannon Chan-Kent
Rem: Colleen Wheeler
Matsuda: Vincent Tong
Naomi: Tabitha St. Germain (Star Ocean EX, Gundam Seed, Elemental Gelade)

Viz released a trailer for the anime recently; however, they didn't use the same actors as on the show.

They were late doing the casting and they still haven't casted everyone. They lisenced Death Note I believe early in the year but the DVD doesn't come out until Novemeber. But, the show is airing on YTV in a couple of weeks.

Tabatha St. Germain is alright, but I liked her Haro voice. (better than the Japanese one) They didn't hire the well known actors, which can be good because some are over rated but can be bad. Viz hasn't finished casting so there would be more to the list. (I hope they add Kirby Morrow) For Canadians, it's on YTV in the fall.

Seems like Gundam Seed recycled.

lol, well Destiny is finished being dubbed and it's the same studio/ADR production.

Brad Swaile is the only name i recognize.
&& he was in Zoids too. He played effin' Harry Champ;
AND Sai from HnG.

I kind of agree (vindemon). I don't think it's going to be such a huge smash hit. Although the manga is doing really well, so who knows.

And for some reason, it really bothers me that an actor from Zoids is playing the voice of L. XD

Regardless of who the voice actors are, I just feel that Death Note is not going to do well over in America anyway. It doesn't seem to be an anime that the younger generation of kids who watch anime in the states would typically watch. I feel they are more into the Naruto and Bleach shows than this psychological thriller. We'll see though. Hopefully I'm proven wrong.

Can this Brad do nearly as good voice acting as Mamoru did in the last two episodes of Death Note? Because that was some fantastic work. I guess time will tell.

i haven't heard any of these ppl either (don't normally watch dubs). This'll be interesting to watch when it is finally released...whether that's a good interesting or a bad interesting is still undecided, but it is so far leaning towards the latter.

Ugh... Tabitha St. Germain ... she did a bad job doing Shana from the dual-audio file I checked out... well, it's hard to compare to Kugimiya Rie's voice acting as Shana XD
