Ikkitousen, Blood-C? Come on Funimation! Announce something better like you did with Hellsing Ultimate or Level E!

Huh, Ikkitousen GG and XX by Funimation and not by Media Blasters? This could go real well or totally awry (refering to first season by Funi)

Michiko to Hatchin finally got licensed? That's amazing! It's about the only show on the list that I'm actually pleased about.

If you were to never buy it in the first place, then you probably wouldn't have bought it ever. Besides, why does something need to be watched the moment it's released? And it's not like Japan immediately puts their stuff of DVD/BD. It's like saying that the Japanese are stupid for buying stuff when they've already watched it on TV, online, or have already downloaded it.

I know that Japan usually takes a year, year-and-a-half to put their titles onto DVD and BD. The point I was trying to make was that Funi has taken too long to dub some of these titles. Let's take the two Ikkitousen series. GG was already finished by 2008 and XX by 2010 and fansub groups have already done these titles and put them onto the Internet for for free for several years or so. Thus, I don't expect Funi to make much money from those (Hidan No Aria, Blood-C, and Michiko to Hatchin can be included in that group as well at varying degrees).

As far as I can see, taking too long to license a series is a good way to set yourself up for failure. Being timely is essential if you're trying to grab and hold on to a certain piece of the market.

I agree that it can be frustrating to get an R1 release of a show that is a few years old. However, sometimes things may work out this way due to large deals, demand, or long negotiations (fansubbers don't need to negotiate anything).

Licenses like Ikkitousen can have quite a story behind them. It was expected that Media Blasters would own all those series, but they've been slacking for a while now. so FUNimation jumps in to meet fan demands. And "sex" does sell well for FUNimation, almost regardless of age.

Companies like Sentai Filmworks, NIS America, and Aniplex USA do a good job of releasing shows somewhat close to the end of their broadcast run, but they mostly do sub releases. And they have a significantly smaller catalog. Sentai Filmworks and Aniplex USA will occasionally dub shows that they believe are worth it. On a personal note, what Sentai believes is worth a dub can often frustrate fans like me :P

Me too.

I heard it's because it's not Blood+... They hate on it because it's an alternate o.O.

No, they hate it because the story (whatever story there is, it doesn't start until around episode 6 or something) is a total mess, Saya lets more people die than are actually saved thus making her a terrible heroine, and the show itself is EXCEPTIONALLY boring.

Then in the last few episodes it throws a hilarious amount of gore at the viewers to try to make up for the lack of...anything actually happening...in the first few episodes.
I can vouch for the hilarious amounts of gore

So fucking over the top and outright retarded i dont see how anyone could take this seriously

Wow...Funi's really late on some of these titles. I know that for most, if not all, of these series, many fansubbers have already did and put them up for download a long time ago (heck Final8 just finished Michiko to Hatchin days ago). It sorta seems like a waste of time to even pay Funi any attention at this rate...

As far as I can see, Funi needs to stop waiting years to license and dub anime. By that time, most of their targeted market would've downloaded the series or either watched it on some online streaming site, thus making buying DVDs from Funi all but useless. This one of the biggest contributing factors in why Funi loses so much money.

Michiko to Hatchin Awesome along with Jormungand.

I heard NISA hinted that nichijou and penguindrum were already licensed, but haven't been announced yet.

I hope that is true. I would love to have Penguindrum.

Please let this be true I miss the penguins and my Shouma/Ringo scenes.

Probably won't have the money to buy the limited editions in time though *cries*

If that's actually why people hates it,then that is a complete BS (by BS,I mean below standard) reason to hate on a show.
