woooooot

sage subs picks up another new Lupin!
the subs are fine, no bad Englsih (can't comment on translation, but they probably? use CC for help, so should be very good)

i love it so far, but of course I am a huge Lupin fan.
I am also a huge fan of Michiko to Hatchin, so I am psyched about the choice of director.
definitely this one is more for adults, tho.

This trailer? AWESOME. It takes advantage of the fact that we already know these characters and gives us some entrancing visual displays instead of what your typical trailer has to do. (Show us basic characters, dramatic scenes, etc...) Looking forward to this show's premiere later this week.

Wow what a trailer, absolutely love the retro stylin they are going with the visuals and music. I've only seen the start of the second series which has been on my hold list for years and the same with detective conan vs lupin III movie which has been on my PTW for some time as well.

Its a good thing i was watching that series dubbed so the cast choices don't mean a thing to me (they rarely do for me anyway). Going to keep a very close eye on this.

Hell the english dub for the series was pretty damn good. I dont think i will be bothered with the voice actors like most people on here. It could be a reason why some of them not doing the roles. For all we know they could be retired but idk i didnt research. LOL

I take back what i said about the voice actors. They did some shitty choices. A lot of the new voice actors did characters i disliked in the anime roles they did. So far i dont like Fujiko, Goemon, or Zenigata actors. They better sound like a clone when this show airs.

I couldn't find anything with Fujiko or Goemon but i found one with Zenigata's new VA from the Blood Seal - Eternal Mermaid special that aired last year.

I have no idea how he compares in quality to the original but i really like it. Its how i would envision him sounding from what i know of the character. Apparently, according to the review here on MAL for that special, the other two do try to portray their characters similar to the original VA's. So you may get your wish in that respects.

sue me is im a fan of proper casting

"Proper" and "same" are not synonyms.

i like the actors in most of there otthers parts but its not right for them to Darrin a role of a still living actor just to appole to young people who will not watch the anime any way

What inside knowledge do you possess that allows you to make these statements? There's more that goes into casting decisions than whether someone is still breathing or not. I don't think you'd get far as a casting director in the anime industry.

lupin will never appeal to younger people in japan to keep the older fans in to need to cast safe people why to you think the other SP got crap tv ratings
you did not grow with lupin
would you stiil watch an anime if you anime cganged its cast after 15 years

an example is if you watch Simpsons for 2o yaers and you knoe your VA and sudenrly a voice actor changed how would you react

Dat grammar.

Regardless, I'm really excited for this. Lupin III is my favorite anime character of all time, and this is going to (hopefully) breathe some fresh air into the franchise. Which it most definitely deserves. Personally, I'd have been a tad bit more interested in seeing a Jigen-focused series, but he may be more suited to a special, anyway. Fujiko is a great choice regardless. And that art is killer. Definitely interesting how menacing everyone but Fujiko looks.

none of the main 3 whose sieiyuus are still alive are played by there proper Seiyuu so its bad casting

I remember you whined about the same thing when the most recent special came out last year. I'm sure the new cast will play their parts just fine, the original cast cannot be around forever, you know.

Get over it.

The new cast doesnt bug me 2 much but the damn story better be top notch. It will probably have a lot of nudity in it but i hope its not just the fan service. Fujiko usually only gets naked just 2 get her way.

Should Ecchi be listed as a genre for this show?

Didn't the manga have lots of nudity?

Plus the NSFW banner at the website might be a sign of what to expect
http://lupin40.com/tv/

Airing at around 1:30 in the morning also implies it's for a mature (horny) audience. :)

Wow. Thanks, Japan. I'm going to have even less of a social life this spring when all these awesome new shows come out.

Is it bad that I'm going to make this my first Lupin? :V

LOL maybe, If you want to know all about Lupin III watch the previous series. Since this is mostly about his partner in crime Fujiko.
