According to the official website, Anime Contents Expo 2012 (ACE 2012) was announced to be held from March 31st - April 1st at Makuhari Messe. ACE 2011 was launched as an objection to Tokyo government's regulation of anime and manga enforced this year, but the exhibition was canceled due to the earthquake that hit Japan this March. Tokyo International Anime Fair 2011 (TAF 2011), whose executive committee was chaired by the governor of Tokyo, was also canceled for the same reason. The competition between ACE 2011 and TAF 2011 for invitation of the exhibitors had been a hot topic since the schedules of the two exhibitions coincided with each other. ACE 2012 has avoided the overlap of the schedule. TAF 2012 will be held from March 22nd - 25th.

Inoue Shinichiro, the President of Kadokawa Shoten, announced on his twitter that Kadokawa will not participate in TAF 2012 under the present conditions. According to Yomiuri News, Aniplex will also boycott TAF 2012 and will exhibit their anime at ACE 2012.

I am thrilled to hear about this. It is great that the industry is making its voice heard. The Tokyo government (and all governments world wide these days) can rot. Death to big brother.

I'm quite happy with this. You can't let Ishihara keep getting his way. The Japanese have stood by with this Masochist attitude for far too long. Take the reigns of what you enjoy and create and don't allow for the censoring of your love for it. If it's not stopped here it'll be far more than ecchi censoring.

However there are a few people out there, who will agree and follow his teachings oh how he makes an impact in Japan alon with the TAF and Tokyo Government, sadly

They won't stop until they have their ways as it seems.

Ishihara's argument is flawed:
If he says it's harmful FOR kids, how will kids get it if their parents do not let them?

Either case, he is crazy. Focus on The REAL problem.

Errr... what do you mean by that?

Ishihara, the guy that made rape novels in the 50s, is the biggest hypocrite ever. If we let this idiots govern us we will get to a point where drawing/owning a loli picture is punishable by death.

I hope not because 95% of anime fans will be executed. Hopefully I-man dies before such radical legislation can be put in place.

Ishihara's law is a ruse, of course not much is being done because he is trying to get that anti-loli bill back on the table. I read there's a petition to get it back on the table but only around 200 sheeple signed it.

So he likes loli more than incest?

No he wants to ban lolis and ecchi of teenagers in all Japanese media. Good luck with enforcing that if that even goes back to the table, it'll never be properly enforced.

censorship here in america or in japan is just a blind the government puts before the eyes of the moralistic sheep to make them forget about the real problems we're all facing: economic downturn, natural disaster, ineffectual gov't, etc. it's time to stop worrying about legislating morality and start doing some more effective problem solving!

I hope this becomes more successful than TAF. Why should people work with those who hate their work?
