According to the official website, Anime Contents Expo was announced to be canceled considering the damages of the earthquake, the scheduled power outage, and the nuclear power plant accident. The exhibition had been launched by Kadokawa and other major publishers in opposition to Tokyo's anime & manga regulation ordinance.

I'm not the type of guy that goes for humor in this sort of situation, but it seems all the big name publishers won't get the chance to show up Ishihara. What a shame.

QFT. Tis a shame. Well then again, activity on the manga and anime regulation ordinance should die down for a while, considering how the country's priorities have been forcefully shift. Maybe anime and manga publishers will recover before supporters of the bill do, thus giving us a few more months of unregulated manga. Not that I wish for some parts of Japan not to recover; I wish the entire nation a healthy and speedy recovery.

well the earthquake, the scheduled power outage, and the nuclear power plant accident.

are just additional reason for them to cancel it

Well lucky for them, for now, they have a good reason to cancel it, to explain to those who remain in the event

I expected this. It's a shame they won't get to stand up to Ishihara, but it can't be helped. The safety of the country and its people is way more important.

For a second, I thought it said Anime Expo (the one down here in Los Angeles) has been canceled. Nonetheless, it's still a shame. Good luck to all the victims, and may they recover.

Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol.
