I'm sorry but I don't get why people are so "speechless" or think "WTF does Toyota think they're doing?" or "this is ridiculous"...

Contrary to those who thinks that way, I think it's great. The first time I saw the commercial, I thought of the tragedy that just happened, and I think it's great that Toyota is actually trying to move forward and gain its grounds. I saw it as an effort to take the powerful next step from what happened just months ago to say that we're all right now.

I don't think it's solely the Toyota company in the US that made this decision, it's like going to its roots (to what's originally from and embraced in Japan).

Just my thought. And I also agree with @Squarebox's comment.

That is a strange ad to air in the United States. It would help if Miku's name was pronounced right though.

I guess there are also un-grown ups people here in this forums, huh..

You know what? If you talk bad about Vocaloid, then why bother come to this forum anyway..

This is an anime forum for god's sake..
If u dont like it, dont break the heart of people who likes it.
Dont you hate it too when people making funny of your 'whatever you like'?
Dont you want to say, "YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT 'whatever you like'"

So, kids.. At least show some respect.
Or if u dont want to, then GTFO.. ASAP..

I love Vocaloid but man..
I hope people in the US don't start saying, "Hey it's that girl from that car commercial" everytime they run into her without knowing who she really is. >.>
In other words, "I liked Miku before she was cool" eh?

The commercial would only annoy Americans with Miku's high pitch and worsen the stereotypes of the Japanese people. Satisfies me though.

agreed completely, I can already imagine my dad's face and words if he saw the commerical.

there are now a mandarine and cantonese version of the same ad.

mikus voice is now not so loud. means the scream isn't that hearable.

She sure does look horrible. Bad CGI is bad.

It's quite funny, though no American will know who she is. They will probably think it's Toyota's new mascot.

Somehow it made me LOL.

A poorly made ad.

May 7, 2011 10:55 PM by mindflayer

Uh... why? The average American male adult won't even recognize her...

May 7, 2011 10:02 PM by MisaTange

I don't really get the point of this; the general audience isn't going to give a fuck about Miku unfortunately.

Why not choose Megurine Luka? Ya she might not be as famous as Miku but the latter sucks.

I actually think this is embarrassing.

*Looks at the Toyota Corolla Miku official website*

Oh cool its a picture of Hatsu- BLEARAHAAARUUUUUGHH (vomiting noises). That... thing is an abomination... of Miku...

The moral of this story:

American business needs to do a better job at introducing foreign stuff to its population.
