I'm so sad.. The last episode of an AMAZING series. Now I finally know who Miria and Isaac were when I saw them in Durarara!!. :D

I love Vino SO much.. He's just pure awesomeness in human form.

That anime really has some remarkable things. I love when specials are treated as normal lore episodes.

Excellent. Normally bonus episodes are a just fillers, or a waste of time, but here they really add something to the story.

And the 'life goes on' end actually works very well for Baccano.

A solid 9/10 for me.

This is one of those OVAs that make the perfect complement to an amazing parent anime.

Everything was tied down neatly, leaving a sense of closure that both pleases and saddens (since it's the last time you are getting to see your favorite characters). For such a short-running anime, Baccano sure captivates you with its wide array of diverse and life-like characters.

It's been a fantastic ride, but now that it's over, I kind of feel like resetting my memory and rewatch this amazing show!

I liked the ending. Kind of wished the fight between Graham and Clare/Vino was longer, but I understood why Graham didn't continue. This was a great series.

Woops looks like Czes is forever scared shitless by Claire.
I have a feeling Rachel and Claire will probably become long time friends.
Luck was the demon?
Also feel like Graham and Claire will have a frenemies relationship. The hate to like each other and like to hate each other. Hope so. That'd be really cute and funny.
Also, Claire blushing while thinking of Chane is really adorable, orz.
A nice ending to a great series.
It has potential for a second season, it really does. Modern day NY, or maybe possibly in Japan new problems and drama wait for the immortals?
THAT'D BE GREATTTTTTTTTTTT.

Carol and the old man at the end is such a tease :P

The OVAs were great and Opened up quite a lot for a possible sequel. I wouldn't be surprised to see a sequel 2013-2014. Also, How did it took me so long to watch such a great show ><

Soo much win ! :D
Especially the part with Domino, and Firo becoming a Dominist XD
Also When Race Trailer freaked out that little immortal boy ! I laughed very hard ! xD

When the vice director talked to Carol about that tales shouldn't have neither beginning nor ending, it felt like it was talking about Baccano itself ! x)

That was absolutely great. I was worried about the wish Elmer asked of the demon at the end of the series, it was good to see it too. There was indeed no main character. But I wanted to see more about Carol and the Vice Chief. Carol was so cute and I thought Vice Chief had an important role, but ma-ii.

A 10 for me because it's Baccano and it can't possibly be bad. The only thing I can complain about is the lack of Issac and Miria, though I do understand the necessity to wrap up the other dangling plot threads. Of course, they did make up for lost time with a hilarious end sequence which leads right back to where they were at the "beginning" of the series...gold mining. Very clever and fantastic ending, love this show.

Also...it needed more Ennis...but I'll stop my whining :p

Everyone was eccentric - everyone was nuts. And it was FANTASTIC! So it turns out Luck was the devil who gave them all immortality. Great set of specials, I especially enjoyed when the Vice Pres was talking to Carol about how stories don't need an end or beginning to be enjoyed. I used to always want to see stories find proper conclusions in the past, but I learned that there are times when it's simply more enjoyable to see the story go on. In fact, Baccano illuminated this point and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Brilliant series, an easy 9/10 for me.

Notice something about this ending?

EVERYONE is happy. Every single character was smiling or laughing, satisfied with themselves, looking forward to something, or just having the time of my lives.

Couldn't help smiling myself enjoying this ending. Awesome anime. 10/10. At the end of the day for me I rate entertainment by how entertaining and memorable it is. Hard to top this, and I'm currently watching Durararara by the same creators which is also a bundle of fun.

I hope I can find more work by the creators of Baccano.

Amazing episode!!

definitely a excellent way to end a show!!

and wow Rachel had a lot of screen time!!!

we also learned alot from her past and why she never pays a cent over her travels in the rail roads :P

i'm glad she did!!

i'm glad that Nicholas asshole got scared the fuck out by Claire.

he's petty talk about Rachel is getting on my nerves.

oh i wished Claire should have smashed his face to pieces!

lol Czes was scared as hell towards Vino! even more so than Fermet :P

i didn't like that Ennis didn't say anything on this show other than being in one scene in the dominos and with Czes-kun :(

lol Vino getting some love advice!!!

so he pretty much falls in love at first sight, though Chane maybe his first true love in a long time!

enjoyed the scene with Rachel!

ehh Graham and Vino didn't fight :P

was hoping a battle, but i guess Ladd will have to deal with him on his own now on.

Chane and Claire!!!!!

really love the scene!

wow Sylvie is here!!

wonder why Maiza didn't notice in the dominos room?

and yeah i actually thought Gretto was Firo at first!!!

his attitude and even looks are similar!

i wonder if Firo knows about Sylvie and Gretto's memories?

ehh looks like i was wrong about this :(

and wow i almost forgotten about St Germain and Carol XD

Isaac and Miria!!

those lovable crime in partners!!!

love the specials!!

glad they extended it, but still wishes for Season 2!!

i want to know more about their grand children plus 1930s-2001 is HUGE gap in terms of time and events.

lots of things can happen in 80 years!!!

i already preferred Baccano than Durarara!

it's funny how both(Baccano! and Durarara!!) series has a similar cast.

like Chane and Celty and how both are silent towards others and prefer to communicate to someone via external communication like a notepad or phone.

Baccano even have some small cameos in the Durarara anime!

Baccano does it better, for some reason they have the charm and coolness that is better than Durarara!!(still a great anime, but i really prefer Baccano!)

i want more Baccano!! please Narita Ryohgo!!

9/10 for sure!!!

well as expected the fight was easy and Graham was no match at all for Vino.

i liked to see Chane smile a bit and i wonder where Dallas was he didn't seem to be in that but the cards where so does mean he escaped somehow:O

over all i liked this specials a lot it was really showing the things i missed in the anime such as background on what happened after the events in the anime + they explained a lot of things more clear so i can only say i love this specials.

i would hope for another seasons but i don't think it will be happening since still no new season and its pretty long ago already since this came out. they where talking about it yeah but as they said it has no start and it has no end could also be implying to that they won't make another season or leaving it open not planning to go on but they can if they feel like it.

This one kind of bugged me actually.

It looked like they were gearing up to do the 1933 arc, which is the final part of the Eve looking for her brother plotline (among other things), and was teased in the very first episode of the series...but then...it just cuts off.

The 3 OVAs were literally just the start of "The Slash (1933)"..and then it ends before anything of real importance happens. Literally not 10 minutes after the VP and Carol finish talking she would've been pulled into that mess with The Lamia.

Well that, and the fact that they actually left out A LOT of stuff. The railroad arc could've been a 26 episode anime by itself, and was only about 45-50% adapted. (the loss of 97% of Claire's story, and 75% of Rachel's, about 30% of Czes's, 20% of Ladd's, 95% of Lua's, a bunch of stuff involving the Lemures, and all of "The Magician's" involvement actually did hurt the story somewhat).

Nah, Jacuzzi, Graham, Chane, and Claire fans would be rejoicing, as 1933 is basically a straight continuation of the specials, with Huey's non-human organization The Lamia coming on the scene, as well as the introduction of Chane's little sister Leeza. It would also probably include the Gandor/Runorata war in 1932 as well, since they'd have to introduce Maria (the brown katana wielding chick in that blink and you'll miss it scene in the first episode) who plays a big role in the Lamia fights (which includes Adele, the blonde chick with the spear).

1934 is mostly about Ladd, Jacuzzi, Huey, Firo, and Issac in prison.

On the other hand, they might skip 1933/1934 and instead do the 1705-1711 arcs, since the Advenna Avis immortals didn't get much screen time, though that series is mostly about Huey and Elmer, with occasional cameos of other future immortals, eventually culminating with why they all ended up on the ship in the first place. In some ways it's a more interesting series since immortals play almost no part in it (aside from the headmaster and teacher of the Alchemy school, who actually don't do much at all aside from intimidating some officials with a demonstration of their immortality)

Or they may do the 2001 or 2002 arcs, which are all awesome but ends on cliff hanger (like most of the books do).

Though I can totally agree that Firo is pretty boring, he gets 1 single arc to give him some depth as he angsts over whether Szilard's memories could eventually turn him evil, but goes back to his old self once it's resolved. I mean, he does have a decent amount of back-story, but none of it really changes that he's still this wide-eyed idealistic kid at heart and never really grows out of it.

It's funny that despite being "main character-ish" he really is the most one dimensional of all the Baccano characters.

Even his wife has 10x the depth he does.

Hell, Keith Gandor (the leader of the Gandors) has more depth and he talks a grand total 7 very brief times in the whole series (and never utters a word in the anime).

Well, at least the ending episode was nice and we finally got some closure. Although as a whole, I would recommend watching only this episode of OVA because other two were pretty sub-par.

As for Baccano as whole, I would say this episode made it worth it. But as I said before - as this is being highly episodic series, your enjoyment of it depends on which character you like the most, some episodes would be better for one part of target audience and others for another one (while the rest would be bored by it). Little more effort put into toning down those slapstick parts and it would be a lot better.
