| Some people I made the introduction, others did so to me. Some came about through meeting in different Discord groups, through other friends, or directly asking each other questions (often related to the database). I don't really recommend sending out random friend requests. When you find some people who look interesting and tell them why you want to add them. Leave some profile comments, join a group and participate in discussion; hopefully you'll eventually meet some people. |

| I don't. I don't consider mal or other online friends as real friends. As well as I don't have an urge to making them here, so I am not often having a conversation other than through forums, it is rare for me to have it through profile comments, and with exception of one user it is for me rare to have a conversation through PMs. |

| You can send a friend request to people you like and try to talk to them. It doesn't have to be super random either. For example, you can have a discussion in some thread that you eventually move to DMs or profile comments. That being said, while I've encountered some exceptions, I don't think this is a good place to make friends since most people fall into two categories: socially inept individuals who aren't sure how to connect with others or cannot hold a conversation OR people with actually good social skills/life but who just want to kill time and occasionally vent to someone without having any plans to engage with them on a deeper level and building an actual friendship. I do hope that your experiences will be different than mine, though. |

| As of recently, I've sent friend requests to people who I've seen in the forums or on a user's page. I try to make friends with people who have similar favorites or who seem to enjoy some anime the same as me. I just think that it makes it easier to start conversations with people if we enjoy the same things. Because I've sent friend requests to them recently, I'm choosing to let some time pass before starting conversations since I don't want to appear overbearing with notifications. |

| @philtecturophy well yeah, it goes without saying that only a loser would have a post count that high, but being a loser doesn't necessarily indicate that you can't hold a conversation. it's just that i would imagine that a person with that many forum posts would have a lot on their mind which would lead them to become good at holding conversations, but that's just me being overly optimistic |
| Well I get friend requests fairly often, but I only have a small number that I regularly chat too, like maybe 4 or 5 of them, and it's not everyday we chat. Some of them say that they like me because of shared favourites or shared interests, but they don't always say what those are.....😅 I think mainly it's because I'm an active regular (and so incredibly awesome obviously). Would be cool to be close friends with people close to my age though, most I talk to are at least a decade younger than me😬 |

| I don't go out of my way,from people I've seen regularly commenting here whos opinions I find interesting or down-right unhinged then I'd send a fr.I do get hit with random fr from time to time but it's rare and we don't communicate outside of maybe clashing in a forum discussion :D |

| you don't have to force yourself to make friends. It usually just happens. I don't tend to reach out the people beacuse I don't care, but if you're making an effort to reach out and talk usually people respect that. |

| Same way you do in real life. You have to talk to people. Forums I don't recommend can't have good conversation or meaningful one here. Look at their profile see if they like chatting or like the series's. |

| @LoveYourSmile Thanks, but precisely stuff mentioned here that it's hard to form any deeper connection or any actual bonds is what gets me tired of socializing. It's only planned to be a temporary thing though until I get back to 15K posts, since someone from the team has deleted older threads/replies and I was suddenly missing 20 posts. 17 more to go after this, then I can hopefully retire for good from posting. |
| If you stumble across a profile of someone who seems interesting or cool, just comment on their profile or PM them telling them whatever it is about their profile that catches your eye. It could be a favourites list, for example. |

| Just comment on their profile and talk to them about interests you have. A lot of people try to be friend collectors, so maybe you can be friends with them. Some people tend to avoid them though because they rarely talk to you. |
