Examples:
- Your favorite anime/character is bad, you should get better taste.
- You like BL/loli? Yikes...
- You are attracted to a fictional character? Get a life.

I think our 2.5-jigen no Ririsa heroes are on to something.

Never in a serious way. I will rib my friends about their taste, and they do the same for me. The only issues I have is if a "passion" seems to be bordering on "Crimes" i.e someone is a little too into loli/shota-type stuff and suspiciously never seems to have a romantic partner

Everyone judges, might keep the judgment to yourself but still going to look at the opinion someone has on something and... have thoughts. I feel that when i see someone with a show like Naruto as their favorite. I just think they need to watch more anime and pick something better. :P

I don´t judge people for what they like. Life is to damn short to even bother with what other people do in their life. I got my own damn life and passion to enjoy to even spend a taught on others.

But hey if your life is so useless you only feel good looking down on others for what they like I got a tip for ya there is allot of nail and tall trees build ya a house and avoid humans for a few years.

No, in fact talking about someone else's passion makes for some of the best and most interesting conversations I have ever had.

Passion earns my respect no matter what the subject matter is.

someone could dedicate their life to learning everything there is to know about different types of penis and I would still respect it.

Back in day, i was always judged in real life by others for liking anime & manga. So I've learned to not care. I even knew some peeps who would cap about liking the anime medium, just to be accepted by others lol. Though currently, i feel like it's accepted overall, especially shonen or popular stuff.

@Zakception Whenever I tell somebody I'm in love with a fictional character they think I'm pulling their leg... We still have a long way to go.

I will "judge" people that look at children and animals in a sexual day till the day my brain stops working. Meaning, I will think they're weird and won't want to have anything to do with them.

I guess people that are into some really violent stuff can be included but I rarely come across those so I don't have that much of an issue personally.

But as long as they don't hurt others, there's nothing else to "judge" them for, it is their own life after all.

Everybody does. Human brain is wired to quickly categorize and make quick judgments. It's a natural human tendency to side with those who are similar to us, and shun those who are different. People who deny being judgmental are the fakest ones and the least trustworthy. Those who insist on virtue signalling and pretending to be a good person are the most rotten ones and will never hesitate to stab you when no one's watching.

@Shizuna True. I had people like that before, i just stick with it regardless of what they think. There's an old Arabic Proverb i knew since my childhood that i loved using in these circumstances which says "The dogs bark but the caravan goes on" - "القافلة تسير و الكلاب تنبح".

I'm trying to be careful to not come off as judging or negative when I'm commenting on someone else's taste/opinion.
The great thing about anime is how there are so many genres/types of shows and characters imo, and it's not because I don't understand or appreciate someone's else taste that it makes me 'better' than them for sure :)

Unsure as to whether you're referring to anime or life in general...
Anyways it depends.
Sadly most people aren't like this and I've had people openly (and to my face) tell me that stuff like reading manga is pointless...listening to soundtracks is pointless...blah is pointless...reading 'this' genre (e.g. I recommended Natsume Yuujinchou to a friend recently and they didn't even know what slice of life was and after a quick summary/explanation they decided it was boring) or 'that' genre is boring.

Wish people could be more open-minded

Out loud? I'm not in middle/highschool picking on the weird kid to get in with the popular girls, so that's a no. Even online, unless something really irritates me, I'll tend to resort to sarcasm or jokes, because that's how little energy I want to spend caring about how much someone likes a show or character. I actually hate when I let something get me worked up.

Generally speaking no. Specifically because Anime is simply just fiction. Though there are caveats to this, specifically dealing with online Users to actual real life people one can interact with.

If I happen to meet someone new for the 1st time before getting to know them and all they talked about was BL or Loli Anime I would surely have my guard up and think they had some screw loose in their head. It's simply not a normal thing to go around talking freely like that to complete strangers in real life when it involves anything that would be considered taboo.

Getting to know people 1st before finding out some things a person is passionate about can change things either online or in person specifically when dealing with things that are taboo. As an example, if I find someone who just happens to be into an extreme amount of perverted Anime and Hentai but got to know them 1st it usually wouldn't bother me unless that was simply all they ever talked about after finding out. Besides someone coming off creepy like a complete degenerate, they wouldn't be someone ideal to introduce to others in my real life who would likely think negatively about those things. But that would simply go beyond just judging a person dealing with things they are passionate about and it would boil down to judgement of character before anything else.

Like I certainly wouldn't go on a trip to a foreign country with someone I knew was known to shoplift. This type of thing reminds me back when I was in College where my Girlfriend at the time (which she has been my wife now for over two decades) and one of my friends and his girlfriend at the time we all tried to take a trip together to Cancun Mexico for a weekend. We even had reservations to stay at a very nice hotel and a pretty lively itinerary planned to a day on the beach to going out to some known local hot dance clubs at night. Once we all got there and before we actually could do anything fun together, my friends girlfriend got caught shoplifting at the damn airport giftshop and completely ruined our vacation where we all ended up just going back home after the incident. Not to mention we all had to help get my friends girlfriend out of this trouble before we flew back home because apparently this wasn't the 1st time for this to happen to her specifically in Mexico (at the time I had no clue she had a record of shoplifting in the Freaken same country). Ever since that incident, I have always had my guard up with new people in real life specifically dealing with people known to commit petty crimes like shoplifting or stealing in general. I certainly would never hire someone to do a job for me if they admitted to illegal piracy because anyone who would do that likely would steal anything if they think they could get away with it.

Before I got to know the person I married in real life, I had no clue she was really into Western torture porn movies like "SAW", "Hostel", and a slew of Japanese exploitation films that I never knew existed before. If my Wife at the time simply just talked about this stuff before I got to know her I would have likely thought there would be something truly weird about her. Only after getting to know her and finding out she had a huge collection of these films it made me feel closer to her knowing she was specifically opening up to me about her passion about collecting these films since not even some of her close friends at the time knew about this. It's not because she is some sadomasochist or a homicidal maniac, she just finds watching and collecting these types of movies entertaining that came from her own curiosity when she was in Highschool experiencing the 1st gore movie she ever saw in Japan with some of her friends and telling me the enjoyment she had of the thrill of almost jumping out of her seat at the theater at the site of seeing truly disturbing fictional cinematography. She definitely doesn't just go around talking about her passion to complete strangers or freely talking about the gore films she loves with people who she isn't really close with.

And again, these things deal with fictional media. It would be a completely different story if I got to know someone who then later down the line admitted to being into real life things like something disgusting like Scat... That's just gross... this would be going beyond just fictional media... The same thing would go for someone who admitted they like having sex with underage girls. Not only would I find that completely repulsive behavior but would also immediately report them to the authorities.

To answer your last question, No I am not really attracted to fictional characters. It's more so if anything finding fictional characters at most the equivalent of attractive Eye Candy or just something appealing to watch. Even before when I was in Highschool and before I even ever dated a girl before in my life, I was never truly attracted to any of the fictional characters i liked, at least not in the context you are inferring.
