| I was rewatching Gintama a few days back and once I finished the original 201 episodes, I was thinking about how many great supporting characters were there, besides just the Yorozuya trio of course. Hijikata, Okita, Tsukuyo, Kyuubei, Kondo, Hasegawa, Sarutobi, Katsura, etc. There were a bunch of episodes where the Yorozuya trio were not focused on, and were still good-great because of how much fun the supporting characters can be. Which anime do you believe has the best or favorite supporting cast of them all? |
| Haikyuu for the depth of the supporting cast, it rivals most main characters in other anime. But Grand Blue has the most fun one |

| For some reason, I’ve always really loved Lucky Star’s supporting cast. Everyone is so likeable and fun! Monster has a good supporting cast too. I know some people don’t like the fact that many characters come and go, but I quite liked it personally. I thought it was refreshing. |

| For me it’s a toss up between Gurren Lagann, Hunter x Hunter, and Mushoku Tensei. I really loved how nearly each and every character is enjoyable significantly involved in their respective story in one way or another. |

| Hyakko was the first one that came to my mind. I liked its supporting cast better than the main cast. |

| Fruits basket, Jujutsu Kaisen, Ousama Ranking, Attack on Titan. In my opinion, all the above mentioned animes have great supporting casts. Even the episodes with just the supporting casts are entertaining to watch. In these animes you don't feel like, "That's enough show the MCs now". You can enjoy an episode with just the supporting casts just as much with MCs. There could be many more but I can only remember these at the moment. | I would say either Haikyuu or Kaguya Sama. FMAB, AOT and Fruits Basket are definitely up there as well. Although I have the feeling that Mushoku Tensei could surpass all of them in the future. |

| Nana. Komatsu's circle and the two bands (Blast and Trapnest) comprise a large cast of characters. We get to know a lot about every one of them, except poor Naoki for some reason. |

| I would say Dorohedoro. It had an amazing cast overall. Both the protagonist and the antagonist were amazing in their own right. All the supporting characters were pretty fun as well. I would also say Monogatari but I don't think any character in that series is unimportant enough to call them a supporting character. Almost all the characters become the main character in different arcs. However if we can count some Monogatari characters as supporting characters than that would be my pick instead. |

| I actually think the one series with uniformly the best ensemble cast throughout - where I either adore or just at least genuinely fervently appreciate each and every character in their own way as well as their collective balance is Higurashi. There's not a single character I dislike (even more difficult to accomplish for a series which doesn't exclusively or nearly exclusively focus on only two to three main characters). |
| Don't know if it's the best, but I really enjoyed the supporting cast of Toaru Railgun, specially in season 3 which has some interesting fights involving them. Also in LotGH |

| I would go with Durarara. There are so many characters involved, and most of them play an important role in the conclusion of the story. Actually, I started watching Durarara because I was looking for an anime with a good, large cast. Today it is one of my favorite anime. |

But yeah I do think it's a bit too early to put the supporting cast on that level for the time being. More seasons will help this a lot. |

Oh yeah I forgot about Dorohedoro, that supporting cast is really good, even for just a 12 episode run for the time being. Need Attack on Titan to finish so the director can focus his efforts with Dorohedoro again if possible later down the line. Even the antagonists there are great and highly entertaining to watch. |
