| Edit: The official english translation gives the chapter title a whole new meaning. History repeats itself; here we go again with the PTSD. The theory of another cheap shot was circulating around for a while and yet wow, I didn't see this twist coming after the set up from last chapter. I put too much expectations on Drake and Oda "sacrificed" him once again to surprise us(This is honestly a matter of perspective. You could also say that Drake fought tenasciously to the bitter end and managed to land a lethal blow) Effective, but leaves a bad taste...especially for Kaido. God damn, give that man a break. He suffered through trauma and depression, suicidal tendencies, became an alcoholic, just a moment ago his dream to conquer with his old friend aka big sister was taken from and now a fight with worthy opponeng, which he genuinely enjoyed for a change got interrupted by some no name bozo. He lost everything. Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for CP0 Boss too. That man has to go through order after order while trying to make a living. Gorosei: "Capture Nico Robin" CP0 Boss: Sigh *fights against Super Nova and a remnant of the Whitebeard pirates* Gorosei: "You barely survived, huh? Lul, sucks to be you. Forget the previous order for now, the new one has priority. You gotta kill Strawhat Luffy immediately. CP0 Boss: "....." He basically lives at the whim of superiors who send him on a suicide mission. He deserves that we at least learn his name. Or does he not have one? Is that part of being a high tier CP0 agent on top of the mask? I dunno. We may get more info on that in a SBS or in a data book. Fire chapter overall. Fast paced action is scarce in OP and a treat. The barrage of high speed punches infused with Haoshoku dealt considerable damage are always satisfying to look at, it's s impressive how much Luffy got out of his devil fruit. Kaido too revealed more of his skillset. He finally found himself in a tight spot that warranted to flex his own adavanced Kenbunshoku. It says a lot if tanking, dodging and blocking alone ain't cutting it anymore. He gotta be close to his limit at this point. On the flipside there's a Luffy in critical condition. Holy fuck, that looked nasty. Regardless of the interruption, I didn't see Kaido going down after that exchange and things look far worse now. Luffy is the protagonist, he got back on his feet and surpassed his limits countless times before, so I won't count him out yet, not until he's confirmed out cold and even then there's still the chance for him to get up again. Kaido is absolute shook now, imo this smells like flashback time is upon us, same as with Big Mom when her mother Carmel picture got destroyed. The question is will he kill the CP9 Boss before or after? XD Is this the anticipated tragedy? Luffy getting done dirty like this? What will happen to him? - defeated - is he gonna tank it with MC plot armor? - get up after the possible flashback? - awakening? Characters with supporting powers - Marco can't heal him and even if he could, he couldn't restore haki - Hawkins could do something with his devil fruit - Minks Deus Ex Medicina - is Blackbeard gonna pull up? I can't think of anything else atm. @VolKur Do you mean the trajectory remark? It's odd to Kaido since he's not as big brain as Doffy.  If you don't know what you're up against it might seem that armament can change the property of rubber.  See where the arm bends, that's where Luffy is focussing his armament and it's what allows him to redirect his Python. Kaido is simply reacting.  Every opponent analyzes the situation differently, so I wouldn't interpret too much into it. Big Mom was also shocked that Luffy easily tanked her lightning. However, it's totally possible that there's more to Luffy's power. As said before, there has been a lot of build up and many hints were dropped throughout this arc and the last few years. Shanks,Gorosei, legendary fruit, Sun God Nika, Dawn of the World, opening Wano's borders, Zunesha, Oden's logbook, the One Piece etc. All these elements could be tied together. Personally, I wouldn't be a fan of it if Oda retconned the Gumo Gumo no Mi. |

| It was a great chapter for fight choreography, until the final pages. Why Oda decided to throw in this little plot twist with the CP0 dude interfering, I don't completely understand. Luffy's defeat seems assured now since he admitted that 4th Gear was about to run out. Are we gonna have to wait another 10-15 chapters before he gets back up? Or will Oda give us another twist and have Kaido suicide himself? |

| THANK GOD, that there is no break next week, because that would have been HELLA CRUEL to have one on a cliffhanger like that. Also unlike these World Government Trash, Kaido has honor and I REALLY hope he kills that CP0 Ass Clown next week and end the chapter with a Gear 5 or Awakening Luffy Cliffhanger too. Also yeah, Kaido is going to go ballistic next chapter, this is why him and Blackbeard are my favorite One Piece Villains. Also its pretty awesome that Luffy can switch back and forth with Boundman and Snakeman now. |

| Quite surprised to find so many readers confused about the last page, CP0 guy agent being there, Kaido's Flashback with Oden and Luffy being off guard. Anyways, this was another awesome chapter, what Kaido does next...is anyone's guess. Hoping this leads to a flashback from him. |

| That CP0 agent has a death wish. This is reminiscent of when the cheap distraction was done in Kaido's fight against Oden that caught Oden off guard just long enough to help Kaido win, but we know that Kaido doesn't want to win using cheap tactics like that. Luffy really does seem out of gas so I wonder if he'll be able to push himself to get back up and keep going or not. Thank god no break next week, I need to know what happens next ASAP. |

| What an absolute banger of a chapter. One of the best Luffy fights even if it's not finished yet. I was kinda waiting for (SPOILERS for film Stampede) a King King Kong Gun, but Supreme King Gun sound hella awesome. It looks like the infusion of ACoC with Boundman. Also, why did we think Kaido did not have Advanced observation before now? It makes perfect sense for an emperor to possess it. The Luffy vs. Kaido fight really is a display of Haki, perfectly contrasting the showoff of Devil Fruit abilities in Big Mom and Kidd and Law's fight. I thought CP0 was done, I'm actually glad the main dude was not mopped, I like that CP0 is living up to their name power-wise. Also, why was he emotional at the sight of Kaido slamming Luffy at the end? If Luffy is down after this one where the hell does the arc even go for there? Especially that Luffy is likely to be done for a while, what does the CP0 guy do then? Looks like Kaido is getting PTSD from the intervention between him and Oden in the past, he will not take kindly to it, especially now that he's been enjoying his skirmish with Luffy. |

| OH MY GOOOOOOOOD WHAT IS HAPPENINGGGGG??????? We've gotten a brutal and absolutely savage fight up to this point, will this be the match to surpass Katakuri vs Luffy???? What was that vicious snapped look in Kaido??? That was not part of his "bloodlust drunk" phase I'm pretty sure, something in CP0's intervention is giving him some sort of PTSD. Edit: now that I read other comments they're probably right. Kaido defeating Luffy after a cheap rouse done by a third party resembles his victory over Oden, nothing would hit more his guts, will and pride than him defeating once again an opponent that could've given him an end by this way, a coward way. HYPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Can't wait for next chapterrrrrr goddamnnnnnnnn!!!! |

What are you talking about? The CP0 agent who got involved in this chapter isn't Rob Lucci; Rob Lucci is currently leading a fleet to Wano and he was last seen sending orders to the CP0 agents stationed on Onigashima a while ago. |

| Drake X does what he thinks is right and pays the price, I misjudged you dude. CP0 dickback gets in the way and from the looks of it we're gonna get a Kaido flashback and probably CP0 getting messed up by Kaido. Theory Time: Hmmm, Kaido's comment on Luffy's power, perhaps his ability to bend his attacks is a not fully mastered awakening of the rubber fruit. Snakeman seems to be bouncing and redirecting his attacks on nothing but the air around him, perhaps he is giving the air rubber properties and boucing his attacks off of it, similar to how Daflamingo turned things around him into strings. It could lead to him being able to bounce incoming attacks away from him or supressing some of the damage by rubberising the air around him. Whether it is instinctual or is actually known to Luffy, hmmmm, I'm not sure. |
