 TV Tokyo announced a ninth season for the Yami Shibai (Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories) horror short anime series on Friday. The new season, featuring a Chinese zodiac theme, will premiere in July 2021. Crunchyroll has simulcast each season with English subtitles. Sentai Filmworks licensed the first two seasons in December 2015 and released them on home video the following April. Yami Shibai inspired the short television anime Sekai no Yami Zukan and a spin-off, Ninja Collection. The series aired in 2017 and 2020, respectively. | A ninth series huh? To be expected really. Though each series i find to be either a hit or a miss. Sometimes it can be a really good watch. So i'm looking forward to what this has in store. |

| This is a series I will always turn up for, even if the quality sometimes wavers. So long we we never get the terrible Season 4 narrated style again I will be happy. |

| Will I watch this? Yes. Will I get scared? No, the show has never been scary but I keep watching. |

| I wish Teekyuu would get more seasons than Yami Shibai at this point, the series has just gone downhill lately. Maybe this one will be better though, who knows. |
