Hey, I liked what you said in the Peter Grill thread (and the user you tagged had a good follow up as well). It’s crazy how tasteless ecchi can be, yet many people don’t care simply because of the genre and aren’t willing to draw any lines. There’s definitely a difference in the enjoyment factor when you don’t have to question yourself watching it because of themes like rape, which the author didn’t seem to shy away from in this story.

You really hit the nail on the head, and I wish more people saw it the way you did. Someone even tried defending Interspecies Reviewers for its “consensual sex”, but failed to point out the blatant sexual harassment that occurred in episode 2. These comments are coming from the same people that will look over Malty from Shield Hero having her slave crest placed on her boobs when it served as tasteless fan service later on. I’ve seen plenty over-the-top ecchi with no complaints up until this shit started. More than anything the differences I’ve noticed in fanservice geared towards men vs. women is horrifying.

Thanks for keeping it real, and I look forward to running into more of your posts in the future.

Alright, do hit me up if you wrote a new one, but no rush, it was enjoyable either way hearing your thoughts! I will message you once I finished Babylon so we can discuss the anime and themes in more detail. I will also make sure to check out Monster, definitely has taken my interest.

Thank you for the thoughtful responses, hopefully we can have more discussions in the future. :)

I see, thank you for taking the time to help me out! :) I will give Babylon a go and tell you my thoughts once I have finished it. I have also added both Psycho-Pass and Monster on my to-watch list, will check those out too.

If I may ask, why did you never finish the Monster anime? Did you read the manga prior to watching it, or did you decide you rather continue the story with the manga instead of the anime?

Lastly, I am interested in reading your blog more often. Was Babylon a one-time only review or will you do them more often? This might be a more technical detail, but is there a way to receive notifications about new blog posts? I am quite new to them in general.

Thank you again, I hope you are well!

I apologise for the sudden message, but I happened to see by chance your review of Babylon in one of your blogposts. I quite enjoyed how you focused on the different issues with the show, such as a poor focus of the different subject matters or the bizarre shift in tension. It is an anime I have been eyeing for some time because the genres mystery and psychological interest me, but I am unsure if it is worth the time investment. Despite the flaws of the show, would you still recommend it? Also, what shows would you recommend that have a similar set-up but are, in your opinion, better executed?
